If this Roberts guy gets in I' thinking long and hard before I vote for another 'righty' claiming he will correct the balance on the supreme court. Bush totally stabbed the base in the back with the nomination of this jerk.
Another caveboy speaks.
I'm putting my tin foil hat on...what if this is all a smoke screen to throw the libs off track. I mean, if you are a lawyer with really high aspirations, thinking ahead, and want to be a supreme court nominee, somewhere in your career you do a little pro bono work for a liberal cause and voila, the libs think you are ok, your nomination sails through, and you get a really good conservative on the court.
ok, hat is off
You know, it's far-right whackos like you that make it difficult for conservatives like me!
If you read up on the case in which Judge Roberts was involved, you'd understand that it was a plain old civil rights case questioning the validity of firing (or not hiring) someone strictly because that person was gay. If you think this makes him a "gay boy", you are sicker than How-Weird Dean!
Personally, I give BIG props to Roberts for arguing the legal point regardless of the subject.
How quickly the tune changes. Just days ago, our Freepers were themselves lauding this guy's conservative credentials. Now, they are lambasting Bush for nominating him.
But if we can't figure it out, then why do we expect Bush to? The fact is that no one will know how any nominee will vote until he's on the bench for about a year. All we can do is do our best, and hope that it suffices.
So you'll vote for a lefty instead? Brilliant!!!
Lookee here, everyone! The New York Times snagged a fool that believed their Slime.
See post #37. This is pure agitprop by the Liberal Times to undermine conservative support for Roberts, by taking some small facts and magnifying them.
Meanwhile, NYT is digging dirt and combing the 84,000 pages of notes Roberts wrote over the years for something controversial.
Hang tight, Roberts is a good conservative Judge, wait and see.
Yeah go vote for John Kerry if you want rightwingers on the court.
I'll wait till Bush's term is over before judging his nominees, thus far they have looked good.
I wonder if Bush even realized this about Roberts.
