So, Zawahri wants to blackmail the West into abandoning our allies in Iraq; its time to let the Muslims know exactly how serious America and the West are about our security.
Congressman Tom Tancredo received a lot of flak for his mentioning that perhaps Mecca should be bombed in the event of another terrorist attack. Well, it got the Muslim worlds attention didnt it? The attacks were typical of the Left and the defenders of Islamic Terrorism.
James Zogbys article posted on the Media Monitors Network is typical of that mentality. Now first he vehemently protests:
...before I am attacked for establishing a moral equivalence between terrorist bombers and unthinking macho politicos, let me be clear: I know the difference. The sick malevolence that led to 9/11 (US), 7/7 (UK), and 7/23 (Egypt) is dramatically and immediately more evil than the lies that led the US and UK into Iraq or the hate-filled incitement practiced by religious extremists of all stripes. Right thinking innocents can reject and counter the latter, while we are all potential victims of the former.
Note that immediately following his denial of claiming moral equivalency, he goes on to call Congressman Tancredo an unthinking macho politico, hate-filled, religious extremist, and [by implication] wrong thinking. Not bad for a single sentence. Its understandable that Zogby would take this tack as he is the President of the Arab American Institute in Washington D.C. There is nothing wrong with that other than I would think that perhaps a more patriotic American would describe himself as an American of Arabic Descent. After all, Liberals always say that words make a difference, and I am tired of hyphenated Americans.

Interesting editorial after reading the WSJ Opinion article "Wonderland" and as Tony Blair said last week that after September 11 much of the world "turned over and went back to sleep again." Has the MSM caused a number of Americans to relax (after 9/11) and worry more about profiling, surveillance cameras, politically correct, versus protecting ourselves and our families?

As is fairly obvious, William F. Buckley is not the author of this piece.

As they say in some movies: This plan is crazy, just crazy enough that it might work.

Eisenhower had it right, massive retaliation works, when animal rights wackos harass people they go after 80 year old women wearing fur coats to opera. They never go to biker bars and harass the Hells Angels for wearing leather.

Although I agree with the writer's point of view, William F. Buckly, Jr. is not the author!

WFB was originally in the "author" field. It's been corrected thanks to the intrepid AM.

Zogby, that is why I write. To make it clear that your words are the words of a cowardly apologist for the terrorists who threaten our nation and our freedom. Congressman Tencredos words are not the words of an unthinking buffoon, they are the words of a man who clearly sees the problems confronting us and the only real solution to them. They are the words of a man tired of bowing down and kowtowing to every tinhorn dictator or dictator wannabe that comes along with the threat of violence. We already know how to deal with their type, and it is not the way of the weak-kneed Liberals and apologists for terror. It is the way which has worked, without exception, every time it has been followed. It has been said in many different times and ways.
Sweet.

I don't think massive retaliation against Mecca would serve our interests. In fact, I can't imagine anything that Osama would prefer more. Do you really think Bin Laden cares about Islam? I think he has his own interests and merely takes the bits and pieces of Islam that are necessary to convince the masses to follow his leadership. He's encouraging his people to refer to him as the Mehdi, for heaven's sake.
What better way for him to convince the entire Islamic world that America is evil than for us to retaliate against Mecca? If we do that, we make his job easy.
If you ask me, it's about as absurd as having air strikes on the Vatican to retaliate against the Klan for burning a cross somewhere.

If you ask me, it's about as absurd as having air strikes on the Vatican to retaliate against the Klan for burning a cross somewhere. Good Point.
Now if you could convince Islamic leaders to give back Temple Mount and St. Sofia to it's original creators, end wahhabism, remove the hate out of the Koran and accepted the state of Israel we may have a win-win situation then.
If not...BOOM!
