Danielle Crittenden: Conditions at Camp Crawford Shocking and Inhumane Inmates Complain Danielle Crittenden Thu Aug 4,11:17 AM ET
WACO, TX (AP)Prisoners of Camp Crawford complain of small cells, poor meals, constant surveillance, and disrespectfuleven disdainfultreatment from Presidential staff.
Thirty-three days in this hell-hole feels like thirty-three years, said a bitter long-time White House correspondent. Youre away from your family. Were all billeted into these crappy Waco motelsyou know, the kind they hose down with antiseptic every day and youve got one lousy blanket which is made of recycled Coke bottles or something. There are huge fights for the cells with fast Internet connections but not many have them. The networks always get those. We didnt mind the facilities in Santa Barbara or Marthas Vineyard. Even Kennebunkport was more endurable than this.
[snip]
Journalists also described the routine brutality to which theyre subjected. The most recent case was when Time magazines correspondent had to be hospitalized after press pool duty. In answer to a question intended for the president, chief aide Karl Rove held up a copy of the magazine and made sinister flushing noises. The correspondent was treated for shock at the local hospital and released later in the day.
Its clear they dont respect us or our beliefs, the correspondent said angrily, as he was led back to his cell at the Super 8. Theyre holding us here against our will, and with no charges. Where is Amnesty International?

Let's see....I've been in Iraq for a year and a half, away from family, in less-than-spectacular living conditions, the food is...well, edible...
This is not a complaint. I signed up for this. Just like these whiney scumbags signed up for White House correspondence duty.
So, the amount of sympathy they get from me is
ZERO.

Hey, Valerie...look at the flattering terms in which the whiney, loafer-wearing, cappuccino-drinking media scum are describing your neck of the woods.
You're going to need a giant fumigation system after all that vermin leaves.

It's quite hot here in Texas these days.
That's one of the reasons they hate W., and I'm sure he's a good time at Crawford and is just laughing at them!!!

It's a satire piece...and a good one...but the best satire always has the ring of truth...you can just HEAR these whiners whining.
I bet Dubya knocks on the glass at 'em every once in a while from inside the ranch and waves....

Yeah, I always thought it was hilarious that GWB made all that media scum hang out in central Texas in August.
Being a Texan myself, I can relate to how lovely the weather is there this time of year. ;-)

Poor widdle reporters--can't take the heat. Awwwww--ain't that too darn bad. I love to see the MSM baking in the sun--makes 'em tender and pink! Heh-heh!
Don't tell them, but it is actually cool in West Texas this morning. Don't want them invading here just to cool off!

THERE'S MORE:
The new documents obtained by the ACLU indicate that reporter abuse at Crawford went beyond anything the government acknowledged. For example, in one e-mail, dated July 16, 2004, an FBI agent, whose name is deleted, reports seeing a journalist at Crawford "sitting on the floor of the interview room with an Israeli flag draped around him, loud music being played and a strobe light flashing".
In another, dated August 2, 2004, an unidentified FBI agent reports "on a couple of occasions" entering interview rooms at Crawford and finding one of the journalists "chained hand and foot in a fetal position to his typewriter, with no chair, food or water. Most times they had urinated or defecated on themselves, figuratively speaking, and had been left there for 18, 24 hours or more, until they met their deadlines. On one occasion, the air conditioning had been turned down so far and the temperature was so cold in the room that the baldfaced journalist was shaking with cold. When I asked the MPs [military police] what was going on, I was told that interviewers from the day prior had ordered this treatment."
Another document reports that a female US military interviewer stroked and applied lotion to an older schmuck reporter, yanked his thumbs back, causing him to grimace in pain, and then "grabbed his Geritol". Some of the abuse "apparently involves allowing the journalists to engage in sexual activity between themselves," a gross misapplication of the standards of professional courtesy. Charges are being investigated that not a single female reporter was involved.

The MSM start many of their broadcasts with "It's 5:00 o'clock in New York, 2am in Baghdad....."
I can tell the time difference on my own....wish they'd tell me:
"it's 90 degrees today in New York.....______degrees where our troops are serving in Iraq"

Pet ower tip: I took a kleenex dampened w/Tabasco and rubbed it along all my electric and computer wires. After a first timid nip...none of the cats I've ever had have shown any interest in the wires. Cured 'em quick and didn't hurt 'em.
Also...much cheaper than that "bitter apple" stuff they sell for the purpose. Plua...you still have a bottle of Tabasco to use...

There wasn't a sticker for Baghdad.
Amazing, that at 1 pm PST...the temps are about the same. Will vary depending on the time you view this.
