I disagree with the part of stressing Lincoln, but all in all, I believe this is the right approach to be taking.

In many cities across the country, we have seen a rebirth, for whatever reason, people are starting to come back to the cities, most cities in this country saw a major renewal in the 1990s. Giuliani was the best thing New York had in a long time, but by no means was he unique, many mayors across the country were doing in their towns what they did in New York. It would be a mistake for us as a party to just push this part of the country aside.

Plus, I live in the city, and other than my state legislators, every district I am in has a Republican of some kind in office.

I believe in Ken Mehlman. Hispanics see the GOP as the party of opportunity and President Bush as a true gentleman. That resonates well.

So long as the party doesn't compromise it's principles to get liberal voters, I have no problem.

GOP wants urban voters

Considering how liberal the GOP is in social spending while cutting back on national defense (cut procurement), I would say the GOP has an EXCELLENT chance of grabbing all the urban voters they want . . .

and the wackos

and the gays

and the peaceniks

and the panhandlers

and the Marxist school teachers

and even some self-proclaimed communist university professors

and the illegal aliens . . .

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

It's as simple as this...

"You can't teach an old dog new tricks, and the younger ones are too stupid to learn."

Don't kid yourself. The Republicans have thrown the conservative Republican voice out with their morning trash. What they are after is the Mexican vote. Republicans have despised conservatives for years, but needed us to get elected. Now they think they have a chance by building a large Hispanic party, ignoring citizes and catering to the the needs of Mexxicans.

They may do so for a while. But like the gingerbread boy who rode across the creek on the back of the fox he trusted , he soon found himself in the fox's stomach and that was the end of him. So it will be with our present politicians - both Democrat and Republican.

The Hispanics are not here to become good Democrats or Republicans. They are here to occupy, and that means they will have their own party and it will rule.
