I am a Conservative ,I don't hate homosexuals, and I am not concerned about Roberts role here. Bottom line is that United States citizens have the right to petition the government- that is whether they are gay, straight, male, female, rich, poor and everything in between.

Homosexuals are not the problem in our society. Not all homosexuals are radical activists- and I may not agree with their lifestyle- but they are free to have it and they are free to try and get laws passed. That is the way the "cookie" crumbles.

Conservatives need to stay focused on the manipulations by the left. This story is one of them.

I absolutely agree. And I agree that the left is using this to divide conservatives vs social conservatives.

However, what the left is doing here is the same thing the right (conservatives) was trying to do when the Monica issue hit the fan in the 90's with Clinton. Split the agenda left from the left. In both cases the truth is being presented. Clinton had used power to seduce a woman, Roberts assisted a gay rights initive before the Supreme Court including mock trials on presentation to make their case more effective.

Now you may claim one problem is more serious than the other. Possibly. Yet Roberts assisted in overturning a states intitiative, and one that the people enacted. In other words, he participated in assisting in an activist judiciary ruling.

The attorney representing the gays claims it was his aid that was the key in making their points before the court and turned the votes that may have been on the line.

Ask yourself, if Roberts is everything we know about him to this point, and he was a Clinton, Gore or Kerry appointee, would you still be advocating for him? Again, everything the same. Still feel comfortable? I would think not.

Let me add something extra to your discomfort. I'm a moderate, and I don't have a problem with Roberts. I'm simply pointing out the hypocracy among conservatives who are doing the same with Roberts that the liberals did with Clinton. In both cases, the wagons are being circled. The politics of destruction are being used. Instead of looking at the deed, the messenger is being attacked, ie the media. Focus on the media and the problem becomes clouded. Yeah muddy the waters. It's the medias fault.

I believe he does see the constitution as a living document with guideance and intent of the founders to be considered, ergo his aid with the Romer case.
