Just now on CNNs Inside Politics, in the midst of a ho-hum discussion about Katherine Harris Senate race:
Novak: Just let me finish what Im going to say, James, please. I know you hate to hear me
Carville: Hes got to show these right-wingers that hes got a back bone, ya know? Wall Street Journal editorial page is watching. You show em youre tough
Novak: You know I think thats bullshit. And I hate that. Just let it go.
Novak removes his microphone and walks off the set.
Update I: Novak Was About to Be Asked About Leak The Inside Politics host ended the Carville/Novak segment saying, Thanks, James Carville. And Im sorry as well that Bob Novak left the set a little early. I had told him in advance that we were going to ask about the CIA leak case, he was not here for me to be able to ask him about that. Hopefully, well be able to ask him about that in the future.
Update II: Media Matters has the video.
Update III: Flashback to the first time Ed Henry challenged Novak to talk about the Plame leak, on June 29. Novak wasnt very happy then, either:
HENRY: Do you understand why in general theres frustration among fellow journalist after 41 years of distinguished work, where youve always pushed and been a fierce advocate of the publics right to know, youre not letting the public know about such a critical case, and two people may go to jail.
NOVAK: Well, they are not going to jail because of me. Whether I answer your questions or not, it has nothing to do with that. Thats very ridiculous to think that I am the cause of their going to jail. I dont think they should be going to jail.
HENRY: Yes. But I didnt say you were the cause. But there are some people
NOVAK: Yes, you do did.
HENRY: No, but some people feel if you would come forward with the information that you have, that maybe they would not go to jail.
NOVAK: But you dont know Ed, you dont know anything about the case. And those people who say that dont know anything about the case. And unfortunately, as somebody who likes to write, Id like to say a lot about the case, but because of my attorneys advice I cant. But I will. And there might be some surprising things.
HENRY: Well all be waiting to hear that story finally told, Bob.
This should make for some delicious follow-up stories in the news! Maybe now Novak will feel free to vent his spleen about the behind the scenes unfairness of CNN, since we already know about the "in our faces" unfairness. I applaud Novak for finally finding the gumption to do what he should have done years ago.
This is at least the third thread today, and prior threads had links to the actual video.
It will hurt CNN in the long run. They are tanking as it is. Losing a star like Novak will cost them another 25-50,000 viewers.
CNN has suspended Novak for the utterance of the word.. Bullsh*t.
Shouldn't they suspend themselves for the years of crap and propaganda they have spewed is my question?
It seems like that would only be the FaiR ... and balanced.. thing to do. ;-)
Just reported on FNC, too.
CNN has indefinitely suspended Novak.
More like 25-50. Novak is not a huge draw, more like a bumbling appologist.
I read the AP, why do you think it covers more than this
Novak is the closest thing to a conservative cnn has, and if he walks, they can't even pretend to be balanced. I don't consider him a conservative either, but he's one of their big names.
I've always thought Novak was a snake oil salesman, although I've never really watched him since he's on CNN.
If CNN does not want "bullsh!t" on their air, why do they put it in a chair at a desk and call it Carville or Begalla? Carville is more offensive to me just making his inane comments than what Novak said. CNN will loose more viewers. Novak was really the only voice of reason on that channel.
TOTALLY toopid.
Tools.
And I LMAO at them. Idjits.
Say adiós to the 11:00 slot
Kind of looks like Ray Nitschke in that picture. Please post a more unflattering pic of Carville, maybe the one with the trash can over his head.
I could never figure out how he kept himself from bitchslapping the smug Mr. Judy Woodruff and the usually drunk Mark Shields all those Saturday evenings.
What IS that thing?
