I was looking for some figs in the story yesterday. I just got back from two weeks in Japan with our daughter, and while there I had Fig Pound Cake for dessert one night. It was scrumptious, and I'd love to try to make some!

Those that our daughter and I picked were so good. Before we left, we went out to look at my trees. One is loaded and we just planted it this year. Need to go back out there and see if any are ripe. You know, we should really appreciate living in this country. We can grow just about anything. I remember reading in one of Dale Evans books about their daughter who was born in England. When she got to California, she went out and got all of the oranges she could handle. Dale said she had never seen a child eat so many oranges! She had been allowed to have 1 a week if she were lucky where she lived. Ok! Enough of my soap box.
