Isn't Iryna the name of Arkady Renko's wife - from Gorky Park. Yup, and she was UK too.
I was reading some different stories on this, then looking up the husband's name. He found his wife through an agency that places Russian brides. It also appears that he is a Scientologist, as his names appears on a number of websites for Businesses owned by Scientologists.
