Doesn't the city already have a "public drunkenness" or "public nuisance" ordinance?

Yes, but it does not put enough cold water on the situation. This just allows allows the clam diggers (Have lived at the shore for 20 years consecutively) to nip the inevitable bennie (A transient and usually rude and loud intermeddler from north of the Raritan River) behavior in the bud.

Doesn't this new law spill over to drinking on private property?

We have BBQs in our yard all the time.

Are we now breaking the law because we are having a beer with our burgers on our deck?
