EDWARDS - Eagle County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Singletree subdivision Friday night in response to a report of a person dressed as Batman entering a home.

According to Kim Andree, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, the individual is a 14-year-old boy who adapted the guise of the fictional crime fighter.

"He believes he's on a mission to help people get off drugs," Andree said. "He really believes he's helping. I think the family is working on getting him some assistance."

Andree said deputies responded to a complaint around 11 p.m. Friday. According to police reports, the boy entered the home through an unlocked door and passed a girl going up the stairs. At first, she thought it was her brother, but when "Batman" didn't answer her, she screamed.

The brother and father then chased the boy outside and wrestled him to the ground to await the arrival of police.

A neighbor also told deputies that he thought the boy may have been looking in his window as well.

"They felt silly reporting it at first, or they thought maybe it was their imagination," Andree said.

Police detained the boy and brought him home, leaving him in the care of his parents. According to Andree, the district attorney's office is considering whether to file trespassing charges against the boy.

I don't see how they could call that "breaking in." Lock your doors, folks, if you don't want bats in the rafters.

Assistance? Now they want him to have assistance?

About 10 years too late to shut those barn doors. The horses are all gone. ;)

" I don't see how they could call that "breaking in.""

Pardon the intrusion, but I don't believe the law defines breaking in quite like that.

Wonder if the folks whose house he entered were in fact doing drugs?

The law seems to define it as trespassing.

Reality is for people who can't handle drugs... or comic books.
