So wonderfully Californian, Marsha Weidman's home has it all--along the beach, far from noisy traffic, with a Jacuzzi used to watch sunsets over the Pacific.
For this, she and her husband recently paid $1.05 million.
For that, they got a trailer, built in 1971, without any land.

An old friend of mine bought one of these Malibu trailers back in 1993 for about 200 grand. It was a sty, but it had an ocean view and it was his.
A friend of mine bought in that park back in the 70's and I thought he was nuts. He also bought a lot on the other side of P.C.H. and slowly built a home on the hill.
He overlooked Woopie's place and rented it out for $6500 a month for a few years and then ultimately sold it and moved to Fla.
I'd like to sell them my Van Gogh painting as soon as the paint dries.
LOL!!!!
YOU have one TOO???
You sure 'bout that? Look at all the south-of-the-border house help out there.
Oh yeah. And, I believe I'll steal that saying of yours....
I have the Sun Flowers, do you have the Iris?
Oh my gosh!
I have BOTH!!!!!
The Clintons' vacation home no doubt...
Hellllllloooooooo!!!!!! THEY don't have this kind of money!!!!
It was a gift from John Travolta.
What happens when the owner of the trailer park gets a $200 million offer to sell all the land to build luxury houses? That ocean front land can easily be parceled out for lots at $10 million each.
Then what happens to all these luxury trailer homes that people bought for $1 million? They can't be moved and will be absolutely worthless. All that money will be down the drain cause they don't own land!
You Left coast types have apparently just caved in to the madness. At what point does the great weather pale in comparison to the compromises you folks are willing to make to live there? It's a TRAILER! It's a bloody $1M. .... And you folks think us hicks in the Midwest are not too sharp.Well you can't be too sharp if after reading one article about one $1m trailer you conclude we all must live in $1M trailers....
And the state will soon belong to MexicoDo you get out much? You might be alarmed at what you'll find in your own back yard...You don't think illegals can afford $1m trailers do you?...Where do you think they'll go?
four years ago, I had to cut up and haul off my liveable 1972, 10 X 55 because nobody would even take it for free.
I bought it at a yard sale, and we lived in it 10 years while building our home; to get the final inspection approvals, it had to go.
Not even recycle yards would take it in one piece. Part of it ended up as a trailer; I used part of the frame and decking for a bridge. The metals went to the scrap yard; the wood went to the fireplace, and the fiberglass insulation, etc went to the landfill. Finally wore out my old Sawsall before I finished.
That is the difference between southern Oregon, and southern Californicate.
LOL. At this rate people will be paying a 100 large to sleep under a bridge!
Ahhhh.....I see.
Location, location, location...
Darned if I know! I don't live there...I WOULDN'T live there!
Well. I WOULD live on the water if I could afford it...but that's another story.
