I have a higher regard for Billy Carter than Jimmy Carter.

You have my vote for Post Of The Day.
And I agree 100%.

How's he going to fill a full 30 seconds??????

For length? He could chat about gas lines and the hole parameter Three Mile Island should've caused...

a 60 year-old wimp like Carter

You have to be kidding me! Wasn't he in his 60s when he was prez?! He's gotta be pushing 90.

Its quite comical. As much as many of us loathe Clinton we still save our tag of worst for this cretin Carter.

As bad as Clinton was, he was constrained in '94 and ultimately proved to be little more substantial than the polls he worshipped. He was certainly a Liberal and caused damage (China for one), but Gore and Hillary were far more motivated than he was. For Bill it was always about him first. Whether a Big Mac, expensive haircut or affair in the W.H.

Carter was the real deal. He's actively sought any means to tear this nation down even beyond his one term presidency. And if not this nation, he seeks to throw elections in other countries to two bit dictators and communist thugs. While Bill tears this country down from a comfy air conditioned room in a spacious European setting solely for the adulation and speaking fees, carter is getting his hands dirty helping arm North Korea.

I'm not defending Clinton by any means, but for obvious reasons Carter ranks far above him in earning the title of worst President in the history of this nation. Thank God America tossed this one out after only one term. Though he certainly gave them plenty of reason.

I pray that Carter is irrelevant. He's been considered "relevant" for far too long.

It will be a short line when he passes on.

Not only that, the Presidential hearse will follow the other cars.

When Jimmuh passes, will anyone notice? Will anyone care?

Oh, we'll notice alright. A story a few days ago detailed ex-presidents and their funeral plans (they are responsible for planning their own). While Bill Clinton had made no plans thus far, Jimmah had his micromanaged to every small detail... full state funeral with all the trimmings. No doubt it will get wall-to-wall coverage.

It may well get a lot of coverage, but that will only emphasize how few turn out to send him off

I agree. I don't see it being anything like Reagan's.

Hopefully with lower ratings than last years Stanley Cup. Then Jimmuhs final outrage will find a fitting place in history.

Malaise's whining reminds me of a recent argument I had with a liberal:

HIM: We have no right to keep terrorists locked up at Gitmo!

ME: We're keeping them there because they're dangerous and will kill more innocent people if they're not locked up.

HIM: No they won't! That's a lie!

ME: Why don't you let some of them stay at your house then, if you don't want them locked up at Gitmo?

HIM: But they're dangerous...whoops.

Then the swearing started.

Cannot even be embarrassed for him. . .

Mr. Carter's 'people-serving' resume; cannot possibly match his self-serving efforts for public recognition and self-glorification.

Underneath it all. . .just another 'demrat'.

But still. . .the history books will be kind to him; because his Party; writes the history books.

I always feel sorry for his wife.

As I understand it, the wife was the one who wanted to open our shores to the Haitian Boat People.

I wonder why this isn't mentioned more about Jimmy Carter because it was an incredibly telling incident.

Did anyone ever see the 1979 World Series where the Pirates won over the Orioles ? Well, after Game 7, Jimmuh went down to the clubhouse to congratulate the Pirates. The announcer spoke with him for a while as he stood in the center of the locker room. Then the announcer went over to the left and spoke for about 10-15 minutes with the coach of the Pirates. Then he went clear across to the opposite side of the locker room, passing directly in front of and completely ignoring the POTUS who was standing there in the middle of the room trying to look important, and talked for another 10-15 minutes with the Orioles coach. Then the announcer went clear back across the locker room, again passing in front of and ignoring the Commander in Chief of the Free World who was standing there ignored by everyone but trying to look important and talked for another 10-15 minutes with some Pirates players. At that point the NBC producer mercifully cut to a commercial.

Americans expect their leaders to be people who make their presence felt. They expect their president to look and act like the most important person in the room. They like take charge personalities. They don't respect a leader who is that easily shoved into the background and made to look like the rear end of a horse on live TV (and in those days before cable, and considering that this was Game 7 of the World Series we are probably talking what would be Super Bowl ratings now). Jimmy Carter stood there for a half hour, totally reduced to potted plant insignificance before the entire nation because he could not speak up and take charge of the course of events around him.

Jimmy maybe better off bragging about his own accomplishments. The entire interview could take place in under 30 seconds...

If he speaks slowly enough, carter may be able to spent the entire 30 seconds on what I believe to be his greatest accomplishment, the commutation of G. Gordon Liddy's prison sentence.

But it should've been a full pardon.

But we most assuredly could never be cursed with a worse apology for a chief executive than Jimmy Carter.

As much as I don't like Jimmah, I still have to put x42 down as the worst. Maybe time will change my mind.
