But wouldn't a downburst have forced it into the ground before landing? Yet witness reports (if accurate) are that the plane skidded off the end of the runway. Though perhaps there could have been a downburst, the pilot reacted, and thus the plane was delayed in its landing to too far down the runway.
Yeah, it should have crashed short of the runway if it was a typical downburst.
Maybe there was simply an enormous amount of water on the runway?
