MOSCOW (AP) -- Russia's Foreign Minstry said it will not renew accreditation of ABC-TV after it interviewed a Chechen warlord.
They're lucky they haven't been kicked out of Britain yet.
Can we give 'em the boot?
Please??
We're missing the point. ABC should be kicked out of America.
ABC laid down with dogs.
I saw that show with Ted Coppel. Russian embassy issued stern condemnation to ABC for airing the interview which Coppel read at the end. Their words revealed the were really P'd off about it.
Can we kick them out of the US too?
:o)
First the Chicoms got-it.
...now the Ruskie's get-it, too.
I may have been one of the rare Freepers who actually watched that episode of Nightline.
Truth be told, ABC reported the story and did the interview straight up.
The reporter asked some reasonably tough questions of Basayev. Basayev hemmed and hawed about a few issues including the massacre at Beslan.
I thought Basayev came out looking badly.
bttt
It would be like Peter Jennings interviewing Osama Bin Laden. In the United States. Imagine the outrage!
Whatg is the problem, is ABC to marxist for them?
I never understood what journalist get out of interviewing terrorist and scum of the earth people.
They are doing nothing more than acting as a propaganda wing for those individuals and providing them legitimacy. They never ask those tyrants or scum bags hard questions. Yet look at how Moran, et al, hound the White House and other Republicans.
So yeah, many of these journalist treat scum (and those who would do harm to us) better than Republicans or conservatives.
Anyone else see the irony in a member of the MSM being booted out of Russia? I know they are not technically socialists anymore, but they are still darn close.
MOSCOW (AP) -- The Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday it will not renew the accreditation of ABC-TV after it broadcast an interview with a notorious Chechen warlord.
In a statement, the ministry said the American television channel would be considered "undesirable" for contacts with all Russian state agencies as a result of interview with Shamil Basayev, which was broadcast Thursday.
The ministry called the broadcast a "clear fact supporting the propaganda of terrorism" and said that the decision was made "not to renew the accreditation of employees of this television company after they expire."
Basayev has claimed responsibility for organizing last year's Beslan school siege that ended in the deaths of more than 330 children and adults and the 2002 seizure of a Moscow theater that resulted in 129 hostages dying when police staged a rescue raid.
Actually they DID interview Bin Laden back in 98(?) I think. He was very clear then but the President at that time was WAY too busy covering up his domestic crimes to pay it much attention.
I remember that now!
Wasn't it ABC that also released information about the London bombing investigation after Blair asked them not to?
Not surprised, what was ABC thinking? You don't do this kind of thing in Russia, especially after they have cracked down hard on media lately.
