Father Gave Son Legal Advice In Holloway Case
POSTED: 10:45 pm CDT June 29, 2005
ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- Aruba's attorney general said the father of a Dutch teenager arrested in the disappearance of an Alabama honors student told his son and his two friends that "when there is no body you don't have a case."
District Attorney Caren Janssen said Paul van der Sloot, a judge in training in Aruba, gave his 17-year-old son, Joran van der Sloot, and two Surinamese brothers legal advice the day after Natalee Holloway disappeared.
Janssen said that the elder van der Sloot had obstructed the investigation by asking a friend of Joran what he said during a police interrogation.
He (Reynolds) may have meant as you say, but he did not make it clear enough, I believe.
Yes, I did also read it as possibly meaning as you say, but he was responding on whether the veracity of a specific statement -ie, whether the statement "no body, no crime" was true or not, NOT whether it is true that where there is no body there is no crime.
You are welcome hummingbird.
And a valid opinion at that. . . . There is definitely a Diario versus ArubaToday thing going on . . . Maybe he is harder on Joran because Julia Renfro is kinder to him?
Thank you yellowhammer, I'm just really slow at times..
So what are we doing to celebrate Joran's 18th birthday on Saturday??
Good question! Whatever DID happen to Interpol?
Oh my, I had totally not thought about it!
At work when Charles and Camilla got married, we had planned a big tea party and then the wedding was put off a day and we missed it.
Trying to think of an appropriate theme. Should we all write him ugly letters?
#5)What actually has panned out that Jossy has reported?
In one word--NOTHING!!
" #3) Whatever happened to Jossy Mansur's El Diario reporter Herbert Teal that reported on June 11th that some of the newspaper employees and ALE were tracking 3 men and 2 women that had possession of Natalee in a vehicle and was traveling somewhere in Aruba? We have not heard or saw hide nor hair of that reporter since."
Great list, TexKat~! I especially liked your #3 question. For some strange reason, the June 11th report, was given very little attention or follow up by the media.
Some of the comments from the Twitty's, indicate they are still considering the possibility that Natalee was taken off the island and is alive. I still hope and pray for Natalee's safe return to her family.
Send him boxes of garbage! He'll be in fine company!
Good one! Bet he never thought he'd be spending his 18th birthday in the slammer. I'm sure he had other extravagant plans....
Such as drugging young tourist girls?
If you are right and not in the wrong, as I would do for any Freeper. NSNR
