Of course, one believes Beth as she seems extremely intelligent and honest, but she is a desperate mother desperately looking for her daughter. But the operative word here is "desperate," and this alone can cause confusion and mistakes. What is important is what inconsistencies have the authorities found with PVDS?
I wasn't addressing what is needed for charging and convicting. You claimed there are few facts that we know. I take Beth's word and journal to be fact. This isn't a rumor. Or a report by a third party. This is directly from Beth and her journal.
I also think it's possible the police are using the tactic of making the boys think they are telling different stories in order to flip one of them or get a confession.
Would those authorities you put your faith in be the Aruban Law Enforcement? If so, why?
Desperate or not, what makes you so certain that Beth is the one confused? She's got her journal and many friends and family as witnesses to verify her accounts. Do you really think she was alone in hearing PVDS say he picked Joran up at 4am? I think not.
I agree with you TaV.. So very few things we know for absolute certainty.
We hear stories have changed.. we DO know that the story changed from the Holiday Inn to the beach at the Marriot.. beyond that we haven't heard much for certain. Plus as time goes on the people we're hearing from (not Natalee's family) strike me as more and more unreliable. Jossy certainly comes to mind. His "witness" stories changed hour to hour depending on what show he was on.
We've heard there were 22 differing stories.. If I remember correctly that number originally came from a comment from Nancy Grace.. and we've heard the number over and over.. Yet from what I can tell - Nancy at times is given to hyperbole.
It certainly is frustrating isn't it?
That would explain her silence.
LMAO!!

I have been ignoring so much lately there is hardly anything to read. This thread is like a land mind strewn field.
Thanks.
This is Charles Croes:
Fisherman's Hut -Just An Aside - Riehl World View
A reader wrote that an image they'd seen picturing a makeshift table outside the now infamous Fishman's Hut on a beach in Aruba looks unusual to him. Their position is that the traffic and sand pattern looks altered and it's possible something was buried beneath it - a shoe, perhaps. As they emailed back suggesting the image may be copyrighted, I've taken it down.
Interesting, if nothing else. I believe the area has been searched fairly thoroughly - but I think everyone following this case closely at some point wishes they could be on the island to take a look at things for themselves.
As previously noted, I don't think searching is the answer, anymore. The island has been searched - and fairly thoroughly, at that. What is needed is more information. Regardless of the many reports, I think I'd spend my time talking to as many people in different locations as I could to see what might be dug up. Someone on that island knows something and I don't necessarily think it's Joran Van der Sloot.
If I were trying to get someone, especially a boy, off the hook for something - I wouldn't give him any more information than absolutely necessary and have him outlast all interrogation out of ignorance, and not cunning, strength of will, or intellect.
Do you know if those cadaver dogs can be distracted by neighborhood dogs?
Thanks I had my croes mixed up (not face just name).
I can't figure this abreviation out, can you tell me what it means?
Well, I guess I'm on the sh*tlist now too. I responded to your post while starting at the beginning....I didn't realize the daily brouhaha was on again.
