If I was a 'profiler,' I think I would be afraid of this case...finding and getting into the mindset is not a place I'd want to go.

That's the thing, you're exactly right. And the hazard is that people who investigate things like this don't know they've tapped into a hornets nest until the hornets start swarming out. I guess it goes with the territory. Wouldn't want to be in their shoes, but I can certainly admire their courage—whether they are prepared for the "swarming" or not . . . .

Yep, that was yesterday's news. I'm thinking it was an Aruban trial balloon that popped in their faces. As much as the ALE would like to change the subject and thwart this investigation, its not working.

"Even the New Jersey girl's story that Beth Twitty was recounting on Greta's show did nothing to depict him as anything worse than a callow youth who attracted lots of attention in C&C."

Sorry, if that was from TexKat's post last night, I couldn't open it. Since you addressed your post to me, I will say that anyone who would kill the family dog is, yes, demonic. No, I didn't see him do it. But that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

My instinct is that he's a rotten apple. Your instinct may differ. The fact remains that he was the last one to see her and admitted "something bad happened." Those were HIS words. And he has no remorse. I didn't say madman. You did.

Toespi,
Please acccept my apology on that one. The game has definitely changed. Per, all the mush being programmed into these childrens brains by the NEA teachers and liberal professors from the radical 60's movement.

I was a Police Officer in Mobile,Alabama many years ago and the crime rate was very high. I had one case where three(fools) did a strong-arm robbery for $ .16.

As to Birmingham, crime rate is noticeable and one might not feel so secure, walking downtown at night.

Anyway, excuse my post if it were harsh and thank you for clarifying you were responding to another ridiculous post. We will not always agree on everything, but you get a blue chip for that one.

There are several things about this case that peak the publics interest. A missing child is every parent's nightmare, especially those of us who have teenagers. When my daughter was a senior, we got a call at 3:00 am. It was my daughter saying her friend was missing. Now, she was supposed to be at the movies and spending the night at her friends house. Instead, they (3 girls and 1 guy) drove into the city as they drank vodka and went to a club. The guy put the girl in the car while the other two girls were dancing away - oblivious to what was going on. When they left the club at 2:00 - the car was broken into, blood on the seat and their friend missing. They called the police and contacted us. Around 5:00 am an anonymous phone call was received by the police saying there was a girl at a construction site. Luckily, she was found, but could have died of hypothermia - beaten and raped. She couldn't remember anything and was either in denial or didn't want to remember. During the time she was missing, a call was made from her cell phone, but it was unintelligible. The sad thing is that her parent's couldn't deal with the reality of what had happened. These girls were upper middle class and to this day, I can't understand how they could have left their friend in the car by herself in one of worst parts of the city. But than again, teenagers feel they are invincible and would never imagine something like this happening to them. The girl was lucky to be found alive, but unless you experience something like this - you can't even imagine the helplessness you feel as a parent. You can talk yourself blue in the face about the ills of the world - but the fact is - stuff like this happens and these teenagers are not prepared because they never think it will happen to them.

The other thing that bothers me most about this case is that it has shown a definitive class distinction - locals and the upper class Dutch who seem to control everything. It appears the authorities don't want to solve the case because it is airing their dirty little secret of privilege. Witnesses ignored, speedy arrest of two local security guards, release of the privileged and connected, protest by the locals that BH is criticizing their justice system (appears to be spearheaded by the privileged), threats of deportation of a witness, I could go on and on. This is a publicity war and those that control the Arabian authorities didn't expect a BH and are doing their best to circumvent and protect their "good ole boy" cronies PVS et al.

Luckily, just the week before, I had given her a book written by an FBI profiler.

These threads have certainly been eye-opening and I'd like to read that book. Better to be warned, and armed, than be taken by surprise. At least increase one's chances for survival...can you direct me to where I can get that book? TIA!

SM:

Paul Reynolds; Cross Fire, Aruba Style
http://www.scaredmonkeys.com/?p=1369
by Red

After spending a majority of the time on the American media outlets and 24-7 news outlets like Fox, MSNBC and CNN Paul Reynolds addresses the Aruban public. I have spent much of the past couple of days getting to know Paul Reynolds and discussing what are the best methods to getting out the word to not only the American viewers but also the Aruban people. As I have discussed previously to Paul and Natalee’s Aunt Linda Allison, that I have never seen one family ever so control a news cycle with a story and along with it the media. Literally guilting the media in to continual coverage of the story as the American public demands it. If the MSM ever discontinued coverage the wrath of the American public would be swift. That being said, there still is another media side that has not been used and that is that of the local radio of Aruba.

Pictured above, Paul Reynolds begins his efforts into appealing to the Aruban people by having a radio interview the other day with the host of Magic 96.5 FM.

Yesterday it was a radio interview with Elvis Weert of Top 95. I actually did not realize at the time that I was to take part in the interview as well. My role has always just been to analyze what I have seen and heard from the many Aruban people I have met during my stay and what I have always seen in the past and to come up with any way possible to help cross the divide between the Aruban and American opinions on this case. Being a part of the interview was a nice surprise.

Thus began the radio interview with Paul Reynolds and Elvis as Paul took many calls from Aruban people that were tough but fair. Paul Reynolds stressed once again that the Holloway & Twitty have no problem with the Aruban people and that in fact they thank them for all that they have done. However, they do have a problem with three people in particular, Joran and the Kalpoe brothers. Paul stated that in one way or another one or all three know what happened to Natalee. Paul subjected himself to calls and questions from Arubans and should be commended for that. I truly hope that he and the family continue to do this in reaching out to Arubans so that they understand what is going on and that they remain informed with fact not rumor.

An interesting situation happened during the questioning that I had previously mentioned to Paul as for the reason to do local radio. Much of what Arubans get for TV news if CNN and that means Nancy Grace. How many times I have been told down here that this woman is terrible and that all she does is trash Aruba. Needless to say, Nancy need not attempt to get any time-sharing in Aruba anytime soon. That being said most Arubans never see Fox, MSNBC, Court TV, etc. Could one only imagine having all your news on this story coming from Nancy Grace and Larry King? Other than the internet to see on-line news, Arubans without it are limited in their scope. Thus the importance of local radio that gets to Aruba as well as the surrounding islands. During the Elvis self proclaimed “i don’t mean this to be a a cross-fire interview”, one of the questions was, “has the family done anything to stop that hateful things said by Nancy Grace?” One can begin to see how the “CNN” mantra has become part of the Aruban vocabulary and thus the influence that this one network has on the dissemination of information on the island. As I have said to many Arubans when they have complained of Nancy Grace to me since I have been here, “that’s OK we don’t like her much in the states either”.

No matter what the case, the Holloway and Twitty’s must continue to cross the divide of international vs. local media so that all sides are working toward a common goal. The international media is important to keep the story going in America; however, the local media is needed to possibly inform Arubans to come forward with leads to possibly solve this mystery. They are both resources that need to be used to help find Natalee.

Either the ALE is completely corrupt

With the exception of the tourists and the innocent civilians (if any exist), this island is a black hole of organized crime. I don't know if the island powers actually buy the LE or if it just implicit that knocking on certain doors isn't good for one's health, but the LE knows exactly where not to go and what not to look into and who not to implicate.

Also, to differ with another poster here, this compression of evil in an tiny little island makes it infinitely more dangerous than major America cities and certainly more dangerous than the places to which Nat has been exposed (danger not in getting robbed or murdered so much as getting tangled up with the wrong sort of people).

Mountain Brook isn't Birmingham (even though it is a suburb) and Birmingham isn't Las Vegas...and Las Vegas isn't Aruba...at least as it relates to the flow of drugs and cash. As anyone knows, even the organized crime families were shocked by the violence that arrived with the drug trade.

You probably know this but the hebrew word meaning "lord of the flies" is "Beelzebub" (Baalzebubba...Baal = god and zebub/zebubba = flies).

"I did not know that!" (think Johnny Carson!)

Very interesting....thanks, my brain gets a new wrinkle today!

I wonder if there is a Beelzebub in the Aruban phone directory.

Check "v's" first...as in "van der Beelzebub."

Didnt Jossie clarify the other night that the school was in Aruba although it was an "American" school? His typical doublespeak.

Thanks, Canedawg...I've missed so many of the interviews...

Does sound like his doublespeak, though, doesn't it?

Well that is not precisely what I think but you are close. I understand Natalee was well-traveled, this was not her first experience out of the country, without parental supervision, which certainly shows some sophistication. Beth is a savvy person and I am confident that she made her daughter aware of dangers. I responded to the ridiculous notion that these girls went to Aruba, "a dark place where women were stalked and preyed upon." I simply pointed out that you don't have to go to Aruba to be stalked and preyed upon. You can do that in "Anywhere U.S.A." and any young girl who is unaware of this has lived too sheltered a life and perhaps should stay home.

Toespi,
My man or Lady, you are preaching to the congregation and I am a Deacon. I do like your views on what you stand for in life. Our views as to the revolution promulgated by the left and corruption are on equal playing fields.

I am glad your daughter-in-law chose her correct action wisely. One who leaves with a perp in a kidnapping or car jacking has a very low chance of surviving. Your daughter-in-law (done good) and I hope the perp was caught/beaten severely for resisting arrest.

Conversing On A Better Plane,
