Wow, concise list of ills with no cure. Do any of you benefit from any of these programs? (not the IRS I am sure.)

Both the National Education Association and the National Endowment for the Arts. They both HAVE to go!

Why isn't the Department of Education included? That's worse than sugar subsidies!

If anyone would have told me that all these "programs" would be still be sucking the life blood out of our economy today, back in November of 1994, I'd have punched them in the mouth.

Ending these programs is why we worked so hard and dug so deep to elect a republican government.

Look what they have done, and what they have failed to do.

CPB might be a bad idea but it doesn't belong on a list of the 10 most harmful. It simply doesn't have the influence.

Do any of you benefit from any of these programs?

We all benefit from tax withholding. Why, if that money weren't taken from us, we might spend it or invest it unwisely ... thereby wasting it. And if it weren't for Social Security, none of us would be able to retire and live happily ever after.

Ugh ... choking ... on ... own ... sarcasm

A Social Security spokeswoman pointed to the Social Security Handbook on the Social Security Administration website, and said, “It’s not going to relate to the Constitution, but it’s going to give you an overview of the history of the Social Security Act.”

Well, there's something to be said for honesty.

CPB spokesman Eben Peck said: “That’s a bigger question than I’m able to answer. You could probably ask the same question about any department or agency in the federal government.”

I'll be laughing about these responses from the PR folks for days!

Drug Enforcement Administration
Score: 12

The DEA should be in the top 10. The War on (some) Drugs has shredded the Constitution more effectively than most of the 'dishonorable mention' agencies listed above the DEA.

Here's something I noticed, a common theme if you will (it's not 100%, but it's close).

This phrase:

Democrat Congress

The Internal Revenue Service has determined it takes Americans a collective 6.6 billion hours each year to complete all the paperwork to comply with the code.

Take the number of active duty in our military and multiply it by how many hours there are in a year, not even subtracting sleep and off-duty time. We use half as much manpower protecting ourselves from the IRS as we do protecting the country.

Wow, concise list of ills with no cure.

Kind of reminds me of the list of grievances in the Declaration of Independence.

Do any of you benefit from any of these programs? (not the IRS I am sure.)

As a form of welfare they employ a lot of people for meaningless, made-up jobs.
