It's true that I don't know the district all that well. But I gather Hackett has been getting favorable coverage even in the Cincinnati area. And Freepers have been reporting rumors that internal GOP polling showed a five-point race last week. That's pretty tight, and may suggest large movement in Hackett's direction, given that the race certainly didn't start out so close.

C'hip of H'leven! But I thought Arisa (sp?) was cute.

I do like Hal or John, I hated Guy, and Kyle Rayner is past my time.

But my all time favorite was Alan Scott.

I'm a big Earth 2 Justice Society of America/All Star Sqaudron fan from back before the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I liked Guy when I first saw him 'premiered' in the Legends miniseries. Seemed like a tough, take no prisoners kind of guy in a 'comic universe' filled to the brim with Good Liberal Heroes.

Then they turned him into a joke, and that was the end of that. I'll stick with Kyle, though, just 'cause we share an occupation (illustrator).

=P

I'm worried about this one, at least from a distance. It's a special elections(toss normal rules out). The dems have the right candidate, are well funded, and seem to be fired up in a big way.

And I haven't seen the GOP scared either.

The person who should win is the person whose supporters show up to vote. If that's not the Republicans, then it's our fault, not the fault of the MSM.

Clermont is borderline, I lived there for three years just South of Loveland, I would not call that part Applalachian.

Right, I live in Milford and don't consider it Applalacian but some parts of Clermont county are.

Now you got me trying to remember the oath...

In brightest day,
In blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
(something, something)
Beware my power Green Lanterns Light!

Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to remember that...

I'm trying to work here!!! ;)

Yes, the person who turns out the most voters should win. But in this district, Schmidt should have no problem turning out the most voters.

I was taking a look over at the DUmpster. One thread turned into a debate about how hackett was campaigning at starbucks and Schmidt was campaigning at Waffle House.

The DUmmies unaminously trashed Waffle House and were debating about starbucks. Some were fans, because of their enviromentally friendly coffee, othere were lamenting that starbucks puts small coffee houses out of business and is corproate evil.

Another thread was that if Schmidt wins with less than 60% it's a big victory, plus the usual Karl Rove is evil knee jerk responses.

Anyway, I think Schmidt will win, but don't take anything for granted and anybody who lives in that district should go out and vote for Schmidt.

Waffle House rules. Texas toast cheesesteak with hashbrown scattered, smothered, covered, and diced is better than the most gourmet meal. I need to do a Maryland roadtrip soon.

Waffle House

Figures the DUmmies would turn up their noses at Waffle House, their noses are usually in anothers posterior oriface.
