The truth about 'Hillary'? It's not very good
Boston Globe ^ | August 2, 3005 | Nina J. Easton

Posted on 08/02/2005 5:39:24 AM PDT by Quilla

Hillary Rodham Clinton is frigid. No, she's a lesbian. No, wait: She had a torrid affair with her husband's deputy counsel, Vince Foster, who committed suicide after realizing the first lady could no longer be his ''intimate friend."

There's a danger when you throw together rumor, innuendo, mind reading, and unsubstantiated blind quotes from sources who overtly hate your subject. And it's not just the risk of looking (as Edward Klein does) like an author devoid of credibility.

Klein's attempt at a breathy tell-all about the former first lady and current New York senator, ''The Truth About Hillary," leaves a confusing portrait of contradiction and caricature. Any reader hoping to find even a tiny glimpse into the real woman behind the political facade will be sorely disappointed.

But women, in particular, will find much to be offended by. To Klein, Clinton's major sins seem to be that she's smart, ambitious, kept her own name, and as a young woman wasn't interested in dressing to attract men like him. Early in the book, we learn that as a law student, ''Hillary felt so hopelessly unattractive that she did not bother to shave her legs and underarms, and deliberately dressed badly so that she would not have to compete with more attractive women in a contest she could not possibly win."

Snip:

Maybe Klein's book provides Hillary haters with a good adrenaline rush while they're waiting for Rush Limbaugh to come on-air. But many on the right are put off, too. One prominent operative proclaimed the book ''disgusting" and fretted that the fallout would bolster Clinton's presidential prospects.

Klein may have set out to destroy Hillary Clinton. Instead, it will make most readers want to rush to her defense.

wouldn't you just love to hear the stories of all those working for them who have sworn to secretcy, threatened, or untimely demise if they should speak. How can she even claim that she has never, ever sworn, cursed or belittled anyone. She makes my skin crawl. This was a marriage of political convenience. One can't survive without the other.

When she's on 'The Panel'... Nina is verrrrry careful with her words... unlike CeCe Conelly, who fountains leftist idiocy like a busted fire-hydrant.

"...leaves a confusing portrait of contradiction and caricature."

It looks as if Klein hit his mark, then. Hitlery is nothing BUT contradiction and caricature. ;)

Is Nina the person that had the famous quote about Clinton if he kept abortion?

The truth WOULD destroy hillary. But let the dems. believe they can call John Bolton damaged goods while ignoring the obvious hillary hypocrisy. There will be more than broken glass Republicans in 2008. The near-death recovery rate will explode on voting day. No one will go toward the light unless they've first voted against The Queen of Darkness.

Sorry to break ranks here folks, but I really like Miss Easton. "Almost Over You" is one of my favorite songs of all time. And the duette she did with Kenny Rogers still brings a tear to my eye each time I hear it.

any pictures of Hillary need a large warning before posting. The faces she and K.Couric make are enough to make you puke or roll over laughing. Wonder what old Kerry is thinking with her getting a head start on him. She's getting all her baggage out early then play the victim -

Krauthammer always does a nice job shutting down that hydrant too.

Thanks for the email address. The following comments are "in the mail"...

I just read your review on the Edward Klein book - no I haven't read it but I keep hearing about it from liberal "journalists". When I read the following sentence I shook my head:

"Maybe Klein's book provides Hillary haters with a good adrenaline rush while they're waiting for Rush Limbaugh to come on-air."

Was this sentence really necessary? Does it add anything at all to the content of the book review? I thought the review was about Klein and his book. It is such a predictably liberal thing to try and link anything perceived as negative with Mr. Limbaugh. Maybe it gives Limbaugh haters a good adrenaline rush while they are waiting for the next Bush scandal to be manufactured.

What the reviewer misses is that sHrillary has the ability to reinvent herself. And that she will gain the White House for herself by any means possible. She thought she had it with Bill. And even though she controlled many of the levers, Bill was such a screw up that she spent a lot of time on damage control. The book points out how sHrillary knew all about Monica. The media ate up all that was served by sHrillary.

#12..This I believe is very true.

My good friend is from a military family....all of her sons, plus father, father-in-law, etc, are graduates of West Point...and lived in and around Washington for a good while

..she verifies this.

You can't keep 'stuff' like that a secret....

....people talk!

I found what Ed Klein laid out in his book, connections-wise, to be consistent with what I already knew; AND he provided much clearer data. Frankly, I could careless what Hillary's sexual-flavor-of-the-month is. The author of this article is deliberately "spinning" exactly HOW Ed Klein laid it all out. He did NOT lay it out the way this article writer is writing.

The only ones focused on the "lesbian" thing of Ed Klein's book are... (drumroll)... LIBERALS.
