Yep, they are getting so nervous their "depends" are starting to fail. Is that what you smell?

Where anonymous sourcing is accepted practice, we will likely never know the entire truth.

That gives this NYT hack way too much credit.

If she could obtain a get-out-of-jail-free card at
the cost of some WH staffer's job, it would have been
done 5 minutes before booking into the slammer.

She's protecting either someone on the NYT and/or
some Democrat, and/or Wilson himself.

RE: "This has to be the biggest non-story of the century, discounting Whoraldo's uncovering Al Capone's treasure."

Technically, Al Capone's treasure was the previous century, so Plame's outing still is the biggest non-story of this century. ;-)

"My sources tell me that Wilson's wife works at the CIA and that she was the one who recommended that he get the Africa assignment. How does that square with Wilson's claim that Cheney sent him to Niger, and that Cheney received his report and ignored it?"

It is disputed that Wilson explicitly said that Cheney sent him on the assignment; he only claims that Cheney's office originally suggested that this be looked into, not that Cheney personally sent him. But I remember seeing somewhere in the press that Cheney read Wilson's report and ignored it because it undermined the case for war. Can anyone find a pre-outing news story in which it is stated either than Cheney directly sent Wilson to Niger or that he read Wilson's report?

Thanks, these centuries fly by so quickly anymore.

IIRC, Cheney never read "the report" because Wilson's "report" was an Op-Ed in the NYT.

Yup.

Novak seems to be itching for the indictments to be handed down, whereas Russert, Cooper, et al all seem like they're hiding something.

I have been saying this for weeks on Free Republic. Judy Miller covered WMD's for the NYT and wrote a best selling book on the subject. Where would she get her info from besides the internet? The CIA. She has had a long relationship with the CIA and was in Iraq with the group looking for WMD's after the fall of Baghdad. Since Plame worked on WMD issues at the Agency, it makes total sense for Miller & Plame to know each other. I'm sure Miller also knew Plame before 1998 when she was Valerie Plame, not Valerie Wilson.

Since Joe Wilson wrote in the NYT's that Cheney had sent him to Niger, who would Miller call about the subject? She called the VP's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libbey to ask him about it.

What did Scooter Libbey tell the Grand Jury? He testified that he was told about Valerie "Plame" by a journalist.

NYT's Judith Miller is the CIA so-called "Leaker"....AND the prosecutor knows it because it has been quoted in the press that he said "your honor, I don't know why she won't testify, because we know who her source is". She is going to be charged with criminal contempt and obstruction of justice if she doesn't talk. Remember what I have said. It's going to happen and her liberal media allies are going to go berserk and I want a front row seat! HeeHee

One thing is certain: the MSM and Dems were demanding Rove's head on a platter BEFORE the grand jury finished its investigation; this strongly suggests they think he'll be cleared. They want a lynching now because they fear that Rove and other administration officials will be exonerated.

So is the scenario: Plame told Miller, Miller told Libby, Libby told Rove and Novak, and Rove told Cooper? And Joe Wilson told everyone else? lol

More like Plame told Miller, Miller told everyone and Wilson lied his ass off.

'She (Miller)is protecting some Dem or someone on the NYT'

Bingo...my bet would be on a big time Dim. If it was Rove, she'd have sung like a canary.

When is Fitzgerald's investigation expected to be completed? And will the results be made public?

I can't wait to see what's been discovered. I also look forward to hearing what Bob Novak has to say. He's got a lot of stuff bottled up, just waiting to come out.

This is getting ready to blow up in the Dems faces.

If it does, it'll be spun into oblivion, and end up with as much press as Sandy "Honest Mistake" Berger.
