Personally I would rather they bring back an old biblical method of execution.
Stoning
Especially for Rapists, Child Molesters, Murderers and Traitors.
Firing squad seems much more humane than injecting someone as though they were an animal.
Hand the condemned a complaint form, tell them that they need to fill it out after the doctor declares them dead.
I want them to go back to the chair, public hangings, and firing squad to get rid of these scumbags.
I can't bring myself to worry about murderers feeling a little pain when their victims most likely suffered extreme pain.
I also like the old ways of the rack, pikes, tar and feather (perfect for molesters).
Rats: The executioner puts a cage filled with wild rats on the bowel region of the body. Light a fire behind the rats, and they eat their way through the intestines of the person being executed.
Cuts: The executioner carves a thousand small cuts in the person being executed, this person would (after a long time of misery) bleed to death.
These last two sound really painful -- I like the idea. ;-`)
Of course just the ones that killed their victims in the most horrible ways or raped and killed children should have this treatment.
But they're OK with physician involvement in the bloody act of abortion.
Bloody hypocrites.
And they're OK with physician involvement in euthanasia - withholding food and water, as they did with Terri.
[BTW, I'm against the death penalty. It seems too easy to me. I think life in prison is a far worse punishment.]
Bring back public hanging.
Always seeking after novelty, are we? ;-)
Then you must also choose never to fly in an airplance until the chances of a crash are eliminated? Or perhaps never to drive your car until the chances of death in an automobile accident are also eliminated?
"The worst-case scenario is that you wake after a sub-anesthetic dose of sodium pentothal. [You've already received] a paralyzing dose of Pavulon -- and experience the torment of suffocation and conscious paralysis , then the dose of LSD-25 hits and the executioners don masks that look like your victim-- and then the agony of the burning potassium chloride,"
Come on, can we not be creative about this?
I thought as much. It's just the ACLU attempting to cause the death penalty to be considered cruel and unusual and therefore, unconstitutional, regardless of the total absence of pain and suffering. The Left likes to amend the Constitution without amending it.
What you had to say about anesthesia before euthanasia was interesting. I am around a number of horses, livestock, working dogs and barn cats and I always ask the vet to anesthetize the animal that is going to be put down. Some complain that its not necessary, but I don't care. I've seen a few botched put-downs and it ain't pretty. It's worth the extra step to avoid a cruel end. Like I posted to the veterinarian, even the worst of human scum should be executed with the utmost care to avoid pain and suffering so that the victims will receive the justice due, even if its not as cruel as the crime. AAMF, I believe that only a truly just and civilized society has capital punishment. Especially for treason.
Kevorkian used the same sequence of drugs (sedative, paralyzing agent, then potassium chloride) on the man he killed on "60 Minutes" in 1998.
My comment was in reference to capital punishment and the method used to murder Terri Schiavo. I fail to see how your response logically connects to my reply.
