Just heard this on the radio. This guy went before Congress and denied he took steroids. What was he thinking? He has a year left in career and he doesn't stop using it. This will probably takes him out of the Hall of Fame.
which station in which city?
Shame shame.
I liked this guy.
He's a former (Miami) Southwest Boys Club player.
Need more info before I buy it.
And this is a suprise because....???
569 home runs, none of them valid anymore. OUT of the Hall of Fame.
Palmeiro absolutely did not take steroids.
If, by chance, steroids were actually found in his system, it's quite obvious what happened...Karl Rove spiked his Gatorade.
It's an all sports station in NYC.
WFAN in New York.
MLB is going to announce it within the hour.
Sadly, it's probably too late to catch most of the big swingers from the late 90's, and those BS records will stand.
Keep in mind that there are a lot more substances than steroids on the MLB list. There are guys getting popped for basic over the the counter GNC stuff.
I am not excusing Rafi, he should know the rules. however I wish the MLB would announce exactly what the postives were. There is a big difference between juice, and certain weight gainers. I just hope they say exactly what the substance was. Just because it's a banned substance doesn't make it juice.
Very disappointed if true. Why do it now? Twilight of your career, already a HOFer, AND baseball is really tightening the screws.
If this is true, it's a major-league f--- up.
Big surprise, not! I'd wager over half of athletes in football and baseball take them. Cut their salaries so they cannot afford them.
Didn't Giambi get another drug-assisted homerun last night?
Viagra then steroids..
Clearly he has been answering his SPAM
If this does in fact turn out to be true, his Hall of Fame chances are gone forever.
Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Why continue to use steroids after denying using them to Congress?
Either something's messed up with this story or Raffy's suffering mental side effects from his erectile disfunction meds, or both.
I think Giambi's clean. The adjustment from steroids is likely why he's had such trouble getting his swing back. But, in truth, he's always been a very good hitter, just not the home-run beast he was for several seasons. He's a good gap hitter who could probably lead the league in doubles every year...the steroids turned a lot of those doubles into homers. But he's a .300 hitter who could probably hit 25 HR a year, and he's just now getting back to that form.
