In fairness to bar-face, I think you chose the wrong place to end the citation of his quote (even though he apparently punctuated in such a way as to make your misunderstanding completely understandable). He did also add "And a republican House. And a republican Senate." So, if I understand him correctly, he is saying this is the first time in his life (mine too) that we have had a Republican President that enjoyed a republican majority in both houses. The GOP presidents you cited all had to deal with the democrats controlling at least one (and usually both) of the two houses.
That was classy.
