Actually I think Rove would be a strong candidate as well as a strong conservative. The guy can really speak well which is more than we can say about Bush.
Do you recall the diabolically clever Clintoon strategy of document dumping, inundating an investigation of their nefarious deeds with tons of paper that they knew would take years to be read thus getting them off the hook? Pres. Bush needs to adapt this strategy to his legislative agenda after the August break and hit the Congress with about seven major legislative initiatives: Social Security, the Fair Tax, border security, restructuring of the bankrupt Medicare system etc. There is NO way the Dems could fight all of them at once without looking like the obstructionists they are. Of course, the Republican weak sisters in the Senate would have the vapors and prove once again that they are the constipated organ in the body politic, so the Pres. would have to give that bunch an enema to get things moving.
i heard 140
Shot out ... on target! Now will GWB add 50 and fire for effect?
LOL, I love that graphic! It's priceless.
THANK GOD!!!!
"Clinton made recess appointments including Bill Lann Lee"
This was on Fox yesterday. When Dodd was saying that Bolton would be damaged goods - Chris Wallace asked him what about all of the recess apppointments Clinton made - something like 137 (I new he made a lot - just didn't realize it was that many!)- Chris went on to say - no one said they were damaged goods (LOL!)- in addition, Fox had 3 pictures and Chris went through them (don't recall the other names right now).
"DU Infiltrators.
Report in.
Anything hilarious going on yet?"
From DU:
"and so begins the goosestep to Iran.
they are on a tight schedule ,apparently.
End of August? middle of September?
Make no mistake, we are going, and we're being pushed there by fascists."
I'd label this hilarious(from a Bolton thread).
"...as assistant attorney general for civil rights, when it became clear that Lee's strong support of affirmative action would lead to Senate opposition. Similarly, when the Senate did not vote on his nomination of James Hormel to be Ambassador to Luxembourg, because he was [a homosexual], [c]linton made a recess appointment. (Hormel thus became the first openly [homosexual] person to serve as a U.S. ambassador.) [c]linton was strongly criticized by Congressional Republicans for making recess appointments. Nationmaster.com(This site might be worth checking out.)
According to C-Span:
"[c]linton has now made 56 recess appointments in his 6 ½ years, the last being James Hormel as Ambassador to Luxembourg on June 4, 1999. President Bush made 77 recess appointments during his 4 year tenure, and in 8 years as President, Ronald Reagan made 243 such appointments. President Carter made 68 recess appointments over 4 years in office."
How many recess appointments did the impeached POS make in all?
We need the number of recess appointments that Clintoon made and how many GW has made.
Then, we can counter the MSM hysteria re the terrible abuse of recess appointments by W.
Recess appointments have been done by all presidents.
I'm with ya, Bar-Face! All the way!
Give Yosimite Bolton a big can of Whup Ass!
HA-HAA! Losers all!
Thanks!
Basing things on how he looks..Good move ..that's bright of you .
