Just goes to prove that there is always a black cloud to screw up the good of the many. Ambassador Bolton will be Excellent!
You can borrow mine till you come up with a new one......
Bolton is NOT "replacing Negroponte" !
"Recess appointments by presidents is a normal political happening."
Try convincing the Left of that, LOL! We're gonna hear some whoopin' and a hollerin' from them this week. And, GOOD! :)
Watching Gibson right now. People from the U.N. are saying this is a domestic matter, only matters that he is the President's choice. ROFL!
We told ya so RINO's and Dems! The world community thinks less of the Senate than WE DO and that is saying something! The only ones lacking standing in the world community are the obstructionists in the Senate. bet this is making them even more furious than they were when the President said they were irrelevant by appointing Bolton.
Anyone doubting his political career is finished should check out the support he's gained from them.
I think that in its present form, which is akin to the alien bar scene in Star Wars, it will cease to exist. It will be replaced by a world body that offers a seat to free nations only-- A League of Free Nations. This will be more dangerous to US sovereignty than the current cesspool could ever be. But I think that is where we are headed.
Thanks for offering me your tagline, but I've got one for a little while...
Possibly, time will tell. If we keep winning the conservative vote, who knows what may happen. We just have to keep the movement going forward.
Conservatives will be in favor of kicking the dictators, warlords and Carter-approved thugocrats out of the UN. It will be a slippery slope to the dangerous part. This is where we will need to be vigilant to remain sovereign and not allow ourselves to be subjugated to the dictates of a world government.
I completely agree. Hopefully, we'll face that challenge, and not a one world government challenge in the next 20-30 years.
......not really............. ;)
Funny thing........Eric Shaun said that the other ambassadors don't care if he had the Senate's approval. They know that he's the President's pick.
LOL! Even the UN disses the DEMS!
This is a BAD day for the left!
I asked, "We need the number of recess appointments that Clintoon made and how many GW has made."
Dimensio responded:
Clinton made 144 in 8 years.
Bush Sr. made 77 in 4 years.
Reagan made 243 in 8 years.
GWB has made, thus far, 106 with Bolton being the most recent.
Most recess appointments go by without any major fuss. I can only recall one previous recess appointment that the current president has made that got any real attention (Charles Pickering). A few of Clinton's recess appointments were decidedly controversial, but the only one that I recall that really attracted a great deal of vitrol was James Hormel, with Senator James Inhofe proposing to block all future Clinton nominees in retaliation, and a number of other Republican senators having choice words about the "abuse of power" and circumventing the will of the Senate -- basically saying roughly what Democrats are saying now about the recess appointment of Bolton. Sour grapes all around, but this time the shoe is on the other hand.
