MOSCOW, August 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attack on children of Russian diplomats in Warsaw a crime and ordered his staff to contact their Polish colleagues on the issue Monday. Three children of Russian diplomats, aged 15-16, were severely beaten and robbed in Warsaw Sunday. Putin ordered his staff to find what Polish authorities are doing to investigate the crime. The Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday that it had summoned the Polish ambassador, while the Russian Embassy in Warsaw sent a note of protest to the Polish Foreign Ministry.

The children suffered various injuries and are undergoing medical examinations.

The Russian Embassy in Poland said that "situations posing serious threats to the health of Russian citizens are unacceptable and intolerable" and asked the Polish Foreign Ministry "to take all necessary precautions to ensure the security of Russian diplomats and members of their families in the Republic of Poland."

Maybe if Putin was less cozy with Lukashenko who's rounding up Poles for beatings Pole would feel less inclind to treat the children of Putin's pals to the same.

Seems the world never changes much, different year, century, etc. Same groups fighting one another for centuries. If it isn't Eastern Europe , it is the Mideast or Asia (Japan, China or Korea ). US always gets drawn into these things eventually.

Stupidity.

Now some thugs will beat up and rob some children of polish diplomats in Moscow. Hows about that?

I think it is all stupidity.

They probably would have done that anyway, given the chance.

What makes you both think this was a racially motivated crime. Maybe they were just robbed for their money? Hows about that?

The criminals shouted anti-Russian slogans while beating. They also checked the victim's papers to ensure they were Russian citizens. After having done that they went on with beating more savagely.
A spokesman for the Warsaw police Mr. Mariush Sokolovskiy (sp?) said that the authorities had questioned nine suspects. They're to be confronted with the victims.

Maybe 1992 LA Riots were caused by latent white racism. (SARCASM !)

Maybe if US were more friendly to the Arab/Islamic world and did not criticize Palestinian terrorists, the Islamists in US would be less inclined to committ 9-11. (SARCASM !)

If gang of poor kids attacks and beats up rich kids, it's rich kids fault--they were born to privilege and its their parents fault that there is a poverty in the world. Poverty of course is the only cause of crime(SARCASM !)

To avoid going further, if we start excusing despicable behavior like the gang of 15 thugs attacking 3 kids whose fault is being born to the family of diplomats of less-than-respectable regime, than we can excuse any crime which is a favorite past-time for many Liberal-Socialist-Humanist intellectuals.

The report said the thugs who beat up Diplomat kids were Polish skinheads.

http://www.radio.com.pl/polonia/article.asp?tId=25736&j=2

The skinheads are dangerous gangs of mostly young thugs that mushroomed in Russia, Poland E. Europe after the collapse of communism created a vacuum of values that in many cases was not filled with Judeo-Christian worldview but with ugly neo-Nazi ideologies. They often prey on foreigners whom they blame for their dismal economic conditions. This crime should be viewed as an attack by thugs against innocent kids--not as a political incident aimed against Russian interests. It would be ridiculous to imagine that Polish officials hired these thugs to attack kids of other country diplomats. Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities also experienced the scourge of skinhead attacks against Africans, Jews, Armenians, Tajiks and other groups. It's irresponsible for Russian officials to politicize this ugly crime. However, Poland officials also ducked their responsibility when they did not acknowledge that it was racially/ethnically motivated attack. What I want to hear is a simple truth--don't call ethnically/racially motivated crime an "incident". Call it simply ethnically/racially motivated crime.
