If you've ever had back pain so severe that you're lying on the floor doubled up and screaming, you'd be glad to get pain medication that would let you walk and be able to sleep.
I have and I don't begrudge anyone in severe pain relief from that pain.

We don't need to fight that battle again, but please don't mischaracterize the objection to Rush, as that statement does. Many object to his stance on the WOD versus his personal life. You may disagree. Those opinions are formed so, as I said, there's no use debating it further. But the implications of your statement can't be disregarded. At least give opponents the courtesy of their own arguments.
