Dodd and his cronies don't like the idea of U.N. reforms.

Odd, I've never heard Dodd call a Latin American despot "damaged goods"

The Senate should pass a resolution supporting John Bolton as UN Ambassador.

While it would be non-binding, IIRC it would not be subject to filibuster.

I don't have much confidence in Congress, but I do favor a "hard nose" telling the UN it's our way of the highway! Something Congress will never do.

That's not what you want to send up, a person who doesn't have the confidence of the Congress

Dodd needs to learn that the US representive at the UN works for the EXECUTIVE BRANCH. Not the Congress.

He's about to find out about recess appointments.

I don't think that Bush should recess appoint Bolton. Dubya should just keep sending Bolton's name up for confirmation, month after month, until he gets an up or down vote in the Senate. Meanwhile, let the real Republicans in the House refuse to fund so much as a single dollar to the scumbag UN until they are "confident" that a true reformer has been appointed to the UN to keep an eye on all those US taxpayer dollars that get dumped into that toilet every year.

I hope Bush has the guts to play some chicken with this thing.

Dodd is a simpering fool, only idiots and the media would believe anything he says. The very people who will deny the man a vote on the senate floor are saying he won't have the confidence of Congress.

If the media were non-partisan he would be laughed into resigning for this statement.

"He's damaged goods. This is a person who lacks credibility

Bull. Dodd's head is soft as a ripe cantaloupe. The guy is a fast talking flim-flam man. Ask the jerk WHO went about damaging Bolton!!

The commie-rat traitor Chris Dodd would love Bolton, if Bolton just gave a few Dodd-like french kisses to his hero Fidel Castro.

Thanks for posting. Dodd could not be more wrong. Lots of conservatives like me out here in flyover country are looking forward to Bolton's appointment, and if the Senate won't do it, oh WELL!

We're used to the Senate minority throwing hissy fits and trying to boss the President, we're used to their bullying tactics.

I'm laughing at Dodd--I don't know anyone who cares what he thinks.

It seems that a vote of approval by the Congress would label one as damaged goods.

Hey Dodd...it takes guts for 'half a waitress sandwich' to call Bolton damaged, especially when Mr Bolton enjoys support from a majority of the Senate.

"He's damaged goods. This is a person who lacks credibility," said Sen. Christopher Dodd, a senior Democrat

If shifting the burden of proof is not enough, just discredit outright. Dems are the terminaly ill damaged goods. It's either Bolton or them after all.

" ... a leading Democrat (Senator Dud D-CT) said Sunday that Bolton would go without the confidence of Congress."

What is the loss? Does the U.S., the U.N., or John Bolton need to be concerned about Senator Dud, the 1996 co-bagman for the DNC, who took the illegal foreign campaign contributions for Billly Clintoooooooooon?

Don Fowler, the other co-bagman took the heat because Senator Dud was a member of the Bob and Billie Club, formerly known as the U.S. Senate!

... doesn't have the confidence of the Congress ...

If the Dems would allow Congress to vote on Bolton, we could see if what Dodd says is true. My money says Dodd is lying.

Damaged Goods attempted by the MSM, Kennedy, Dodd, Pelousi, Move On.ugh, the New York Times and other socialist Bush haters.

The actual damage to Bolton is only in their own mind which is small and insignificant.

When Dodd said the congress wouldn't have confidence in Bolton, the interviewer should have said, "Sez who????"

Dodd keeps forgetting he's in the minority, and does not speak for the congress!

We the people or the United States of America, from whom your wages come, have absolute confidence in Bolton and agree with President that he is the man for the job at this time-period.

The only thing about you, Senator Dodd, that we are absolutely confident about, is that every thing you do is, was and always will be in the interest of what is best for Dodd and his Party regaining the power of your and it's infamous glory days.

Put Bolton to work for us-send Dodd home to work for himself.

Dodd and Fat Teddy party hard down in D.C. Remember the waitress they sexually assaulted on the table in that trendy restaurant? Listing Fat Teddy's crimes would take too much space -- both he and Dodd are 'damaged goods'.
