I have lost 130 pounds by doing a moderate carb diet. I simply eat real regular foods and eat absolutely no white stuff, high fructose corn syrup, and partially hydrogenated fats.

I've kept seventy five pounds off for almost five years now doing just the same thing.
I also do a little planning to make sure I get all the needed nutrients every day, with the idea that this might reduce cravings. Seems to be working. The new USDA food pyramid site has been helpful with this.
