"We'll take it here in South Carolina, Patriots Point-Charleston... We already have a DD,Sub, Coast Guard Cutter and AND the USS YORKTOWN, a BB would complete the set!!!"

Yes, and the people of Charleston would shower Iowa with the respect and glory she deserves.

Great ships like Iowa have made it possible for the "fudge packers" to practice their disgusting habit.

"I am sad to say I am not proud of the history of the United States of America since the 1940s,'' Daly said.

"Finally, a leftist who admits to being un-patriotic."

About the time Liberals started having too much say so.

Come to think about it, why would you want to park a "manly" ship among queers?

Really, park that ship in TX, GA, FL, NC, SC or anywhere else, besides a place that DEFINES itself by its sexual orientation.

Homo’s are obsessed with their “lifestyle”, ever notice that? It drives everything else in their life. Because of this, these perverts would not be able to understand the historical and cultural significance of such a beautiful war machine.

I often go to the USS North Carolina, to my wife’s dismay since I drag her along. But when you stand on that machine you are touching history. You are “experiencing” history in a way which no “History Channel” can convey. You are in the belly of a machine that was state of the art technology, made history, and took national level assets to build. Thousands of Americans worked to build this machine. The massive amount of material and technology was an effort that required the combined effort of our nation to bring to fruition.

Do you really think a bunch of pansies from the Bay Area can appreciate such a machine? The majority of them probably feel we were “tricked” into going to war, that we forced the Japanese into war by cutting there oil supply off (Ever notice the humdrum-repetitious oil conspiracy?). Besides the potential revenue it can generate, having such a “national monument” put into your harbor should be a privilege. These people are urinating on that. If I had a say, I would not let them have it anymore even if they changed their mind. They don’t deserve it! I’d use it for targetetry and sink it off their coast before I’d give it to them!

Somebody needs to go on a diet of "twinkies" and visit the supervisors.

The Culture War we have raging in this country is as important to our survival as the war we have raging against the Islamists!

BOTH are terrorist groups...

Someone refresh my memory. I seem to recall that a planeload of military personnel being deployed to Iraq earlier this year were passing through SFO. There they were denied access to the airport to use phones, get a bite to eat, or just walk around during a 3 hour layover. They had to sit in the hot plane for the 3 hours. I seem to remember some mention of the Airport manager's having determined that SFO was a 'military free zone.'Ring any kind of bell?

When that happens, they needn't hope for military, Reserve or National Guard to come running to their assistance.

The USS Iowa certainly should not be berthed where it isn't wanted. They think the USS Iowa is an offense to them. I think having to wade through that human debris, who does not want her there, to get to the museum to see her would be an offense to the memory of the part the USS Iowa had in our history.

As a San Francisco resident, I can say that I believe that the decision of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to allow Stockton to dock the USS Iowa was a great one. Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi is does an excellent job as a city official. He knows that the USS Iowa would be more beneficial to Stockton, California than San Francisco, a place where the tourism business is already doing well.
Furthermore, the decision to allow Stockton to dock the USS Iowa instead of San Francisco was magnanimous.
San Franciscans have other battleships docked in our bay to enjoy. Veterans from all areas should be able to enjoy these ships.
