LOL.
Great!
Hey Drudge...this needs a siren.
Hehe!
Very true.
I still say that Jerry Maguire proved that Tom Cruise has perfected his straight man acting.
Yeah rack Betty hey guys I don't know if you this I think TCM going have entire day of Betty Bacall movie to kick Star of the day on TCM tommorow actually
but she was a worse actor than Tom Cruise
Lauren is going nutty. She may not like what Tom promotes outside of work but that doesn't make him a Bad actor.
I'm no fan of Cruise by the way.
Long ago days and now, only cherished memories. Hollywood has become symbolic of vulgarity, for the most part; why would not the bulk of today's actresses and actors not also be?
Tom Cruise sucks. This is news?
I don't think that he is a great actor, either. Some actors get so far into a part that they become someone else. I never see him that way. It is as if he is trying to play the part as himself: If I, Tom Cruise, had become a fighter pilot, this is the way I would be. If I, Tom Cruise, had become an attorney, this is the way I would be. Etc., etc. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it doesn't make them a great actor. The great ones actually turn into and become someone else.
We watched Collateral last night. He played a totally different character. No, he is not a great actor, and he is certifiably an idiot, but at least he played a non-brassy young upstart in that movie.
She went on to say, "Bogie would have bitch slapped the punk!"
Tom Cruise used to be a good actor. I thought he was incredibly fun to watch in Top Gun, Interview With the Vampire, and A Few Good Men. But in recent years his acting has become pretentious and hammy. That coupled with his bizarre public antics has completely turned me off to him. I now avoid movies that star Cruise - I probably would've seen War of the Worlds had it starred someone else.
"Lauren Bacall, a reminder of an era when Hollywood had class."
True, when most of them back then weren't slaves to rehab centers or dimbulb cults.
Chorus:
Where is my John Wayne
Where is my prairie son
Where is my happy ending
Where have all the cowboys gone
My wife and I went to see War or the Worlds, and coming out of it I observed to her that Cruise seems to play the same role in most of his movies: a shmuck who finally grows up a little bit after some adversity. Top Gun, Jerry McGuire, Rain Man, WotW -- it's all the same role he's playing, over and over
