On July 31 (BJ time), Sichuan government has raised warning level of the so-called "Streptococcosis Suis". It warns the high risk of this disease. Government sent 50,000 immunity professionals to the region.
The message is sent through posters, before farmers did not know the disease until there were people infected around them.
By the time Boxun issues this message - 4pm (BJ time), XinHua News' web page still shows the death toll of July 30. There is only one item that was from yesterday. It seems that this warning is only for Sichuan Province.

Don't worry-- their "free", cradle-to-grave, natioanlized health care system is fer-sure upto the task.
I'm afraid they can do that because they don't think it will kill them - they have their 'shelters'.
They also probably think that when they come out of their underground cities, that the surviving "We the people" will be happy to see our "leaders".
Damn, have I got news for them..........
Thanks, I needed that laugh. (Now I'll drain the Pepsi out of my keyboard.)
I'd be astonished if the CIA or MI6 had any significant humint locally.
Wonder what NSA/GCHQ are picking up though?
Administering shots to 87 million is not a trivial task. Each worker must treat 1740 people, and the people are spread out over an area. But do they have 87 million doses so easily?
Not much info there to have humint assets, you're right. (I doubt we need agricultural trade secrets from them.)
I'll bet the electromagnetic spectrum is lit up with communications right now. Just the logistics of deploying 50,000 troops/specialists is a major task.
I would think that we'd have JSTARS up on the move and/or satellites in position to monitor this one.
The silence of the MSM is typical. (Sleep, sheep.)
Health officials foresee flu pandemic:- WASHINGTON | July 31, 2005 5:11:44 PM IST
The world is unprepared for an impending flu pandemic, lacking public awareness and medicine, a published report said Suday.
Public health officials around the world are trying to plan for the outbreak, including quarantines.
Flu vaccines are in short supply and could take months for more even if the orders are fast-tracked, The Washington Post said.
A deadly new virus is showing up in more places as well. The avian bird flu, first noticed in 18 months ago in Southeast Asian poultry flocks, is spreading at a rate that is worrying health authorities.
Bird flu has been found in Siberia and Russia.
Hospitals in Australia are admitting record number of flu patients and Health Minister Tony Abbott predicts a massive outbreak within the next 12 months.
See post #69.
Australia is far more prepared than we are.
I hope that this doesn't get the kind of quick government intervention that our borders have.
I have only registered all this lately and usually I am the first to sneer at millenarian alarmism but this scares the sh*t out of me.
If it were aywhere other than China, it wouldn't be so worrisome.
We tend to think our government lies to us all of the time. We KNOW China's does.
I believe that Australia is better prepared then we are should such an epidemic strike us.
Thanks, but I am busy enough watching Peak Oil, NASA foam and Thermonuclear Annihilation. I'll leave Biowarfare to others.
"M-O-O-N, that spells plague."
That's really creepy dude. Bout time to read that again.
Not having any "neighbors" is Australia's biggest asset.
You can't walk in from New Zealand. But then again, Indonesia is pretty close for comfort, as is China. I'm not certain of migratory bird routes to/from Australia.
Do you remember seeing that thread a few days ago that showed a picture of that huge dust cloud leaving Africa on the way here? What will that bring us?
Ah, come on in - the water is fine here. And this one is the most likely to kill or cripple our economy and our way of life within the next four months, I'd bet. Fall is just around the corner.
You omitted terrorism from your list. :-)
Yes I do. I wonder where it's at now...
I don't even want to hazard a guess as to what it's carrying.
Thanks for your input and research on this subject. I hope we have awakened some people.
I've got to get out and get the tractor up and running to hay the field out front - now that it is cooling down some.
