The funny thing about medical research is, you don't really know whether it will work until you PERFORM THE RESEARCH.
Whatever. The FACT is that those of you worked up about the issue are in a small minority of Americans. Most Americans, including many opposed to abortion, think that even the POSSIBILITY of curing dread diseases far outweighs any alleged issues involving morality.
This isn't the abortion issue- it's not people having sex and then killing a fetus as an easy way out. It's using CELLS to try to CURE HORRIBLE DISEASES.
I'd personally be ashamed to argue against it, but that's just me. Seems some in this group are so fanatical they call out Frist for supporting what the vast majority of Americans support.
And it seems that people like you never have the balls to come to my house demanding money at the point of a gun. You always send the government.
I like your choice for President in 08, but you don't seem to have a clue about stem cell research. THERE HAVE BEEN 65-67 CURES from cord blood and adult stem cells; NONE from embroynic SCR. Why devote money to ESCR -- especially my taxpayers and do research that would make the Nazis proud?

What is your source for your assertion that the vast majority of Americans want the Fed. Govt to fund killing embryos? I'd love to read it.
I do not support Frist. If he ever runs for President, he will never get my vote.
Fine perform the research then. Using private funds. However, don't confuse me with those that believe the federal government should have say on this based on a moral issue. Frankly, I can see the benefit of using stem cells that are going to be thrown out. However, I don't support federal government funding for this or any medical research. It's a matter of Constitutional powers and what is specifically outlined in Article I, Section 8. The federal government should get out of the medical business altogether
