First off, I am not peddling his book. Second, this is fiction but it has very close correlation with current events it sends a chill down your spine. Third, I put this on "News" instead of "General" topic for that reason.
Last night I read the first 5 chapters of this book, but I gotta stop since it'll keep me reading all night otherwise.
I apologize if this book has been mentioned here before.

Well .. I've read and studied Eze 38-39 since 1985.
I believe the next big event will be Isaiah 17:1 - The burden of Damascus. It has been taken away from being a city, it has become a ruinous heap. Only one thing could cause that much damage - a nuclear explosion. I believe it is this event which will trigger Eze 38-39.
I rarely read fiction, but this might be an interesting read.
According to scripture .. it's not Russia's oil problems - it's the destruction of Damascus. Russia joins with other nations "from the north" and they get together and decide to take out Israel once and for all. When they all gather in the Valley of Miggido to fight with Israel .. they get a huge surprise .. GOD shows up to meet them and totally destroys all of those armies.
This is not Armegedon. This will be shown on TV (there is a USA owned TV station on a mtn top in the middle of the valley) - and churches better be ready. This event will trigger the end-time harvest.
I've read this book and also the two previous books by Joel Rosenberg, "The Last Jihad" and "The End of Days", and all three are excellent. Very prescient, in view of the fact that certain incidents in the first two books were written a year to a year and a half before hand.
You give no information about what is in the book. What can be discussed about its contents? It's fiction. Is there interpretation of Scripture in it?
Rush was talking about this book a few weeks ago. I have it on my list of books to read.
So to believe an invasion of Israel by Russia is an imminent event in God's Plan, you have to believe the Bible forecasts two invasions. The Bible scholars who advocate this view, argue that the description of the invasions is different. I have looked carefully at the two scriptures and do not agree--you should all read God's Word and come to your own conclusion.

Hmmm. Russia can barely handle Chechnya. Beats me how they're going to mount an offensive against a [nuclear] Israel--even if they wanted to.

Russia will have the armies of China and all the Arab nations. Israel will not use nukes except on Damascus.
I read all THREE of his books this week...amazing how, years ago, he picked up on all the stuff going on now...

Actually .. it's going to be the greatest opportunity ever for the church. When the world gets a look at GOD defeating all those armies - and they're watching it on TV - they will be running to any building with the name "church" on it and asking - DO YOU KNOW "THAT" GOD?? Fortunately, most churches will be able to say yes. We'll usher them into a room - replay the whole movie from a video - lead them to Christ, and usher them out to attend classes and learn more about "that" GOD. Then, we'll usher in the next group. Our doors will be open 24/7 - so great will be the harvest of souls.
I think that it will happen a lot sooner than 10 years. Gog (Russia) teams with Magog (persia, which is Iran) to start the war with Israel. Hello...... who has been doing deals w/Iran w/nuclear and other military????? Russia .... you got it. The mad mullahs and Putin are making big deals. Think that Damascus could end up obliterated before the whole big conflict, but that is speculation.
