Thanks. No joy yet on Photo of GWB but I did come across this delightful one of his mom

Former first lady Barbara Bush and Neb., Gov. Dave Heineman tour the Durham Western Heritage Museum Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Omaha, Neb. The former first lady visited the museum to tour the museum's special exhibit, 'First Ladies: Political Role and Public Image,.' and to promote literacy. She also met with area young writers and attended a private reception at the museum.

I think it's in "10 Minutes from Normal" - a story about how the President would be all out of sorts and it would be Karen's job to enter the oval office and deal with the "whirlwind" - which I presume was "the President".

Oh fer cryin' out loud, that's what all the fuss is about?

Of course, I could be wrong, but I just don't see President Bush as the "bird-flipper" type. (BTW, love your tagline, Republican Red!)

Oh, don't worry, if there's one thing I've learned from seven years at the computer, it's how to steal graphics. :)

Mom Barbara looks great in that photo. Looks like she may have lost a few pounds. Might be her son's influence.

I wouldn't even want to imagine what goes on in our huge chicken farms over here.Conditions in American chicken farms are deplorable, and knowing that, I can't stand to eat chicken any more. At least our Wyoming cattle roam free for most of their life before going to the feed lots.

Yep. The media are getting worse by the day. Of course, Jay Leno started it, but he's a late-night comedian. The MSM, especially the ones who follow GWB around every day, should know better. They KNOW the truth about this incident.

The FR thread about the Finger noted the following weird Q & A by the White House Press Corps.

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, go ahead.

Q Scott, last night on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno, who apparently is subbing for Johnnie, displayed a video of the President at the Capitol yesterday. In that video, the President walking away from the press lifts his hand and raises a finger. Mr. Leno interpreted it as, shall we say, a finger of hostility. Each of our fingers has a special purpose and meaning in life. (Laughter.) Can you tell us what finger it was he held up?

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, I'm not even going to dignify that with much of a response. But if someone is misportraying something, that's unfortunate.

Q Well, it was not a finger of hostility?

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, I was there with him, and I'm just not going to -- I'm not going to dignify that with a response. I mean, I haven't seen the video that you're talking about, but I know the way the President acts. And if someone is misportraying it, that's unfortunate.

Somebody ought to tell those investigative journalists not only has Johnnie been retired from the Tonight show since 1992 he's also very DEAD.

Unfortunately until the consumer is willing to pay the true price for keeping chicken in a good condition it will not change.

My grand parents considered chicken a delicacy not an everyday meal which was because they were expensive to raise. The farmer is not going to produce anything that does not make money so we have to be prepared to pay more in order that the chicken are treated in a humane manner.

Oh, my! I am shaking my head in amazement at the comment about Johnny Carson, and LOL! And they like to call President Bush dumb and out of touch?

Roaring with laughter -- best laugh I've had in quite awhile. Too bad the WH doesn't ID the reporters who ask the various questions, because I'd love to know who that reporter was. And they think we're supposed to take them seriously?!

Do you buy those black soy beans on line? Would you give me the URL of the on line store where you buy your groceries?
I have some dry black beans but I don't think they are soy beans. The local supermarket does not carry stuff like that and I got the soybeans from National Outdoor Leadership School here and they had it shipped from Denver. I want to buy some black soybeans but I do not know what they are. Thank you for the information about carb rates.

The comments on the photos go from bad to worse over the last few days I have seen Condi referred to as still national security and Donald Rumsfeld as Secretary of State instead of Defense.

We known better but how many others who read these captions believe them.

Interesting. My favorite pub used to have a multiple-choice trivia game, and one of the questions was "Donald Rumsfield is ???". The answers were funny, and they were A) The name of a liquor store chain.
B) Secretary of State.
C) Secretary of Defense
D) The man who invented the game of golf.

I was one of the few who got that one right. Most chose that he was Sec. of State.
