You don't get it. Prices are up because the US has to rely on foreign oil. In other words, foreignors control the prices.

If the US controlled more oil, competition among US oil companies would make prices go down.

You have bought the myth that Bush and the US controls the oil supply. Not true.

In addition, depending on your state, a HUGE amount of what you pay at the pump is tax. The governments would not try this with food, but they do it with oil. Tax is highest in the most liberal states, because liberal states like to grab more money thru taxes.

If you would be a little more estute, you would realize that about 40% of your $2.41 is in taxes. And if the Divine Ms. C gets into office that could go up a lot higher and you would be using your thumb.
