But Why Can't Hillary Win? (delusional Leftist alert)
Slate ^ | 7/30/05 | Weisberg

Don't like Hillary? Join the club!

Political insiders mostly agree: Despite being an early front-runner for the 2008 Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton faces long odds of ever being elected president. But if she can't win, why can't she?

One facile argument, often voiced by Hillary-loathers on the right, is that she's too far to the left. The "real" Hillary is closer to Howard Dean than Bill Clinton, a recent piece in the National Review asserted. Wrong! An unhedged supporter of the war in Iraq, Sen. Clinton stands at the hawkish, interventionist extreme of her party on foreign policy. Despite her pandering vote against CAFTA, she's a confirmed free-trader and deficit hawk. On the cultural issues that often undermine Democrats, she seeks common ground, sometimes with flat-earth conservatives like Rick Santorum, and has been nattering about the "tragedy" of abortion. Even Hillary's notorious government takeover of health care was misconstrued as an ultra-lib stance. In opting for a mixed, private-public managed-competition plan, the then-first lady was repudiating the single-payer model long favored by paleo-liberals. Her plan was flawed in many ways, but it wasn't what Ted Kennedy wanted...

Delusional analysis like this is great news for conservatives. The Liberals simply can't see Hillary for the Marxist Nightmare she is. But the voters have no such vision problems.

Don't underestimate (a) the lack of intelligence and critical thinking skills of the average voter, and (b) the ability of the MSM to manipulate (a) to their advantage. Two words for you--John Kerry.

Really?

You mean the Hillary Clinton that said "We are going to takes things away from you for the common good!"

That Hillary?

Yeah! She's a 'centrist' alright!

LOL! Someone call Zell Miller!

BTW, we have the uphill battle to beat the Clintons, not them.

They will be extreamly difficult to beat by 08.

"Don't like Hillary? Join the club!"

Did Bill Clinton write the opening line?

There's an off color joke in that statement.

Anyway the clintons are going back to their old playbook of 92.

Two things are different, well maybe 3.

First there is no perot to be found, second the liberal media monopoly has been broken, and third with the advent of the internet and talk radio, people are much more knowledgeable of the clintons deceptions, and I'll add a fourth, hillary doesn't exactly ooze personality.

But Why Can't Hillary Win?

It's because of her easily perceived hidden roiling anger.

I cannot help but think the origin of her never ending anger goes back to her early childhood when her father gave her a radio and a toaster as bath toys!

What is "most flawed" is the woman herself, that is, her personality and character.

She is a back-stabbing, cold-hearted, conniving, vicious, amoral, manipulating asexual, leftist, militant piece of shit fem-lesbian (ONLY a political term, not a sexual lesbian) who should not be allowed NEAR the White House.
For her, the ends do justify the means. THAT is truly scarey.

Democrats need only look at those friends, co-workers and allies who have turned against her (e.g. Dick Morris, the inventor of the negative attack.) That shows her character as much as her choice of husbands.

Don't count on it. Many are easily fooled.

Just a few short months ago all you would see on DU was pro-shrillery threads. They loved her! Now it is just the opposite. She is a traitor in their eyes. Not that it matters her alleged move toward the center will fool damned few people. As a presidential hopeful she is dead in the water at this point. Now if she can just get NY state voters to hate her as much she can be sent packing.

Agree completely. Hopefully, though, this will keep the Repubs from growing complacent.

But the voters have no such vision problems.

Dream on, bro.

Hillary Clinton ran a million votes behind Al Gore in NYC and Buffalo.

She was elected by upstate conservative women.

There are women where you live, are there not?
