The way of the ostrich
The Dawn, Pakistan ^ | 30 July | Irfan Hussain

Posted on 07/30/2005 4:44:46 AM PDT by ttsmi

“...I am a 47-year old, working class, white Englishman, who frequently works in London and was in the area of two of the incidents last week, where there were four failed suicide bomber attempts. I’ve always considered myself to be a moderate man and this series of events ... is extremely worrying. Recently I have heard Afro-Caribbean immigrants demanding that all Muslims be sent back (even those born here!). I don’t feel that’s fair but have grave concerns that our cultures are mutually incompatible. We feel like we have taken in a nest of vipers. We feel betrayed by immigrants who have come here to our homeland who consider us as corrupt and immoral. Our women are branded as whores. Some immigrants say we are not fit to govern our own country and that they seek to make Britain a Muslim state...

“...I’ve seen films of firebrand clerics preaching murder in the name of Islam... They have twisted and warped their religion to suit their own sick notions of revenge. They have caused the West to view Islam with suspicion and made us doubt our policy of tolerance which endangers us and our children...

Finally, wherever we go, Muslims in general and Pakistanis in particular, we create and spread hatred, nothing else. I fear for the time when Christians, Jews and Hindus will put the rest of the work on hold and focus their undivided attention on eliminating terrorism around the globe. We cannot comprehend what will happen, but I guess that’s the only way out.”

Well, fear no more...that time has arrived.

Irfan Hussein is at heart a secular liberal trapped by birth in a "religion" and country not of his choosing. His other writings too are quite good. Here's his masterpiece, delivered at the end and which rings all too true: “... a lawyer [of Pakistani descent] at the Justice Department ...informed us that ... more and more mosques are telling people present for prayers that ‘we need to have separate schools so that we could protect our children from American culture’... Finally, wherever we go, Muslims in general and Pakistanis in particular, we create and spread hatred, nothing else. I fear for the time when Christians, Jews and Hindus will put the rest of the work on hold and focus their undivided attention on eliminating terrorism around the globe. We cannot comprehend what will happen, but I guess that’s the only way out.” Amen.

The writer makes some good points. Perhaps this is the best one:

"While we opposed the invasion and occupation of Iraq, for instance, how many voices against Saddam Hussein’s brutal and aggressive policies were raised in the Muslim world?"

If some Muslims believe their religion has been hijacked by thugs they need to step up to the plate and eliminate the terrorists within their own ranks. They live with them and they know them better than Westerners and they can kill the terrorists down to a tolerable level with less colateral damage than can we in the West. But I don't see any signs this is happening.

Their not standing up and apposing these terrorist killings is exactly why I do not trust any of them.

"We all have take in a nest of vipers."

True. The problem is many want to treat them like kittens.

"I don’t feel that’s fair but have grave concerns that our cultures are mutually incompatible."

He's just figuring this out now? On 9-11 we in the US figured that out rather quickly. The Islamofacists have said, on more than one occasion, that they want us dead! Geesh!

Exactly, as evidenced by the fake fatwa recently and the expulsion of 1400 Foreign students from their madrasas.

How about their children in the madrasas.

I [...] have grave concerns that our cultures are mutually incompatible.

Really, Muslims living alongside Christians? Didn't it work great in Lebanon? Or in Kosovo? Or in North Africa (the homeland of Sant Augustine) or in Asia Minor (todays Turkey, ask Greeks and Armenians). Or in Spain?

They can save their money on separate schools. The public schools aren't teaching American culture either.

....trapped by birth in a "religion" and country not of his choosing.

Isn't that true of us all?

"They have twisted and warped their religion to suit their own sick notions of revenge."

C'mon, man! Just read their sick scriptures. They are what define what their religion is and they are full of violence and hatred for non-moslems.

A religion of peace? Not hardly!

"If some Muslims believe their religion has been hijacked by thugs..."

You're missing the point, libertylover. Their religion has not been hikacked by thugs. It was concived and concocted from day one, by a thug, liar, murderer, thief and pederast. Islam was born by the sword and is rooted in violence.

Militant islam is the BEAST
Moderate islam is it's Trojan Horse

ALL'AH FUBAR !!
