CA: Manhunt Glendora CA

Glendora PD was in a pursuit of a male with an AK47. Officer flipped off the 210 freeway near the 57. There is a large containment of the area with LASD SWAT, LAPD, Glendora PD and other agencies. Officer was cut out of patrol car and airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.

210 fwy shutdown in both directions, has been on KABC TV live off and on

Sorry to hear about the officer. Hope they weren't injured too bad.

There's a spate of shootings around freeways today. The 405 headed south at North Hills had about four shootings between 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m..

On the way home I passed a persuit/chase on the 210 headed east at Lowell Canyon.

Add me to that ping list. An AK47? Hope he doesn't go near my house - my mother-in-law is one heck of a good shot.

They're presently searching the area north of Glendora's Sports Park. Along that side of the wash is a railroad track, a car dealership, and usually a whole bunch of kids.

Four television copters overhead right now, with a Sherrif's copter doing the orbits. Add on KFWB's plane plus an unknown white plane. The airspace over me is pretty full, especially since this is one of the standard flight paths into Bracket Airport in San Dimas.

Yeah, it will be. That took out 1/9th of our police force. He should greatly hope that one of the other departments finds him.

Incidentally the Sports Park that the suspect is hiding just north of is named after Louis A Pompei, a former Glendora narcotics officer who was killed off duty at a Vons in his home town.

Both sides of the 210 freeway now open, but very slow. Alternative routes to the south ---

Gladstone Ave has police activity between Sunflower and Lone Hill Ave; most traffic is being diverted southward.

Arrow Hwy is open, but heavy traffic as big rigs hit the road trying to avoid the traffic on the freeway (and the closure earlier.) Best option is to go one to two streets further south - Cienega continues eastward from Azusa Ave all the way to Arrow Hwy in San Dimas, and Covina Ave begins at Sunset (Irwindale Ave) in Irwindale and goes east past the 57 (with onramp) to Arrow Hwy in San Dimas.
