Now this is a guy I would hug just for "giving back" and joining our forces! I appreciate those who come to our country and are not selfish ..wanting to just take. But to also give back. I am touched. :)

Regarding the last quote of his in the article:

“I trust in our leaders’ decisions,” Rahman said with a smile. “I will continue to do my job the best I can, through my actions, my faith will be redeemed, and my country will be safe.”

That just brings a lump to my throat! I wish some of our American citizens felt so confident and proud of our country and our President!

Better keep two eyes on this guy at all times and one finger on the trigger.

If there were more like him, we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. Sadly, he has his religion all wrong and would more properly be a Sikh or some other redeemable religion.

I am going to give this Marine the benefit of the doubt and say God bless him. If his squad mates trust him I am not going to denigrate him for being a Mulim.

By the way, me and my security team stayed on top of the Haditha Dam a couple of nights. The Marines there were very helpful and shared what they had with us. Quite a peaceful place. Used to stand there and look out over the countryside, smoke my cigar and enjoy a peaceful moment. It is a dangerous area too, lots of IEDs.

A good friend of mine named Mike, a Brit, was ambushed by a mob of 300 or so locals not too far from the dam. His vehicle got stuck when he tried to turn around and he was shot and killed, he killed eight of the attackers. I hope Mike is with God, a good friend, and I miss him.
