I can't wait to see Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, and unfortunately George Voinovich scream and cry when Bush makes the appointment. Excellent.

Hopefully the President will stress that fact that Bolton had a majority of votes in the Senate, including some democrats, but that a MINORITY of Sentors from the Democratic side refused to let a vote occur.

"would likely inflame some Democrats who have said Bolton doesn't have the temperament to hold the U.N. post."
i.e. - Democrats who know he has the backbone and integrity to deal with criminals.

So somebody 'splain me why they telegraph their moves and give the MSM time to beat up on them?
Why not just do it whenever they're ready?
Falls in with why they give out his speeches before he delivers them... drives me nuts.

I hope Bolton remains true to himself and doesn't try to cater to the liberal mindset just to show them what a nice guy he is. He is going into a snakepit and he needs to be meaner than a junkyard dog. That is the only thing those pricks at the UN will respond to. If not, put the USA out.

I agree with you except the Republicans just sit in a corner and suck their thumbs. They seem to be afraid to make a move unless outside pressure is put on them. Wish it wasn't so.

The headlines say "may"... it could very well be "may not".

The move would likely inflame some Democrats who have said Bolton doesn't have the temperament to hold the U.N. post. Let me see...
Democrats can be inflamed
But...
Bolton has the bad temperament???

Dubya should announce Bolton's appointment one minute after congress goes on recess...
Bolton put up with more BILE and VITIROL and just plain out right NASTY MEANESS in his hearings than he has EVER been accused of by several orders of magnitude!!!

Ironic comment!
I think some Democrats don't have the temperment needed for 'advice and consent'.
Good for Bush, about time.
