And it didn't occur to this witness to check out what was obviously a body--garbage bag/blond hair/pool??? Boggles the mind.

I did not hear Jossy give a timeline for the sighting when the body was being placed in the bed of the white truck. Did I miss it? Did he give a time for this or not?

I think that Jossy keeps adding info at each interview that he gives.

Got to ask: do you believe he's telling the truth?

I have been suspicious of Jossy for some time now.

I didn't hear that either, though someone above posted something about a pickup on the beach, that might have been the same day. But not certain.

It's as if Jossy spins a new yarn every night for our "entertainment". I'm getting a Bagdad Bob vibe.

Yes, I know. But they're turning over every stone they can.

I do still worry about that refinery, someone posted sometime ago about the incinerator at that place.

And then the man whose throat was cut, or who was decapitated, can't remember which now, was an employee at the refinery.

I don't recall a day or time given for when the white truck with 3 males was seen on the beach. Would be nice to know the timing.

I thought that was between midnight and 5 AM and was the white suzuki and everyone said that was the Sloot's red jeep and the white roof was what the witnesses were seeing. I'll see if I can find the info in my notes.

Well, that's interesting. Who has a white pickup? What happened to the witness that saw Deepak's car and the three guys there with a naked body in the middle of the afternoon, while Paulus wsatched from afar???

Tell you what, I'm about ready to take ol' Jossey out...

Sorry, but these stories are starting to pile on just like the landfill: all with accurate detail, etc, just enough to string everyone along another week and wear the family down.

Like I said earlier, I can understand people being afraid to speak up earlier because of corruption and now the chief is off the case and the reward might allow a new start...but that doesn't seem to be what's going on.

Seems like each story gets a couple of people to back it up, then a few days go by and it slowly falls apart. Soon, it will be Sept 4 and guess what...no body, no case.

Can you tell I'm pissed right now?

In possibly the most important development, a judge has ruled that suspect Joran Van der Sloot can be interrogated by both Dutch and FBI officials.

Just now able to do some catch up reading and I'm surprised by this news! Thanks, TK

No idea what the money would be for, though at that point

Paying of someone to help dispose of Natalee's body perhaps?

I found some interesting info on the cruise ship registration. I can't say how accurate this website is since it's just a hit in a search. This is an excerpt. The main topic is employment on a cruise ship, but this part speaks to ship registration.

http://www.cruisejunkie.com/ot.html

Though many cruise-line companies are headquartered in the United States, they are registered in another country, they operate ships registered in other countries (sailing under foreign “flags of convenience”), and the ships sail in international waters. Sixty per cent of cruise ships are registered in either the Bahamas, Panama or Liberia.

By registering their ships in these countries, companies successfully avoid having to pay income taxes, and they also avoid having to abide by national labour laws – including health-and-safety legislation – and environmental regulations. They also avoid unions this way. The regulations that a ship must follow are those of the country where the ship is registered, and whose flag it flies..

Flags of convenience are clearly an economic benefit to a cruise line. They are also a benefit to the flag state. In 1995, Panama earned $47.5 million in ship-registration fees and annual taxes (five per cent of its federal budget), and another $50 million for maritime lawyers, agents and inspectors.

The Canadian government has been relatively silent on this issue. In the U.S., there have been regular calls in the U.S. Congress, and from the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board, that cruise lines operating from U.S. ports, carrying U.S. passengers, should be held to U.S. standards, regardless of where a ship is built, under what flag of convenience it is registered, and where its owners are headquartered. In addition, the ITF continues a campaign against flags of convenience on all ships, including freighters. So far, all efforts have had only limited impact.

Young women in their mid to late teens just may view men in their 30's as old farts, I mentioned using men around the age of Trapenburg to lure some of the young women that might be attracated to 'older' men, but he doesn't seem to be real old and doubt the gals would be enticed with men much older than him. Most young women are going to be going for the young beach guys. jmo
