This "private company" as you say makes its bread and butter by advertizing (bragging) about their talk show line-up, and how wonderful it is. If these hosts hold back on what they have to say or their topics, we as a listening public lose out. I believe what the First Amendment intended was that we would be able to speak out against the government without fear. Now we have to be concerned about the feathers we have ruffled, who we may have to apologize to someone, or even lose our jobs. Shame on them! In a country that boasts so many freedoms, that talk show hosts should have to live in fear!

Here's a list of their advertisers. GutterHelmet isn't the only one.

I don't get to listen to WMAL, but I sent an angry email saying I listen via internet. CAIR has to be stopped.

This is a total outrage - the chilling effect of this kind of event on free speech in this country is palpable.

Bring Michael back, bring him back now, and let him continue to speak the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be for the politically correct.

I'm personally not boycotting WMAL at this time. However, if they fire Michael Graham, you can rest assured that I will never listen to them again.

Sorry, the First Amendment was to ensure that the voters could critize the govenment in the press or by pamphleterring (today's forums and blogs) without the government being able to use the powers of government against them. If a private company is influenced by its listener's reactions to management or advertisers that's the way the world works.

Notice the 'government' has nothing to do with this action by WMAL management. Don't confuse 'First Amendment' rights with non-governmental actions.

Montgomery County is a liberal cesspool and I believe they claim the stupid notice that Takoma Park has been designated a Nuclear Free Zone. It is also one of many liberal watering holes that declared themselves a sanctuary city aka a magnet for illegal immigrants. Idiots in charge here and a liberal breeding ground.

Sadly, a few thousand e-mails by Freepers means nothing to WMAL, ABC radio, or Disney. Rush, Hannity or Laura Inrghram castigating WMAL on the air would work.
I hope that Rightalk picks him up.

I sent this e-mail to WMAL today and posted it on another thread. FYI

When the colonist didn't like the way England was treating them, it took some very brave men to say in writing (put their name to it) that King George was a tyrant. If they had not, this country would not be here. Let's move to today. Mr. Graham has been brave and said (put his name to it) that Muslim leaders were complicit in terrorism. If no one says it, this country may not be here tomorrow. We need to acknowledge the enemy.

If Mr. Graham's statements were wrong, it has been how long since 9/11?. . . Why did it take until yesterday for the following to happen?

Yesterday, CAIR and other American Muslim leaders gathered in Washington to announce a fatwah, or religious edict, against terrorism, citing criticisms that Muslim leaders had not said or done enough to curb extremism.

Now, I will continue to listen to WMAL. There is a but. Until Mr. Graham is back on the air, I will take note of all advertisers on your station. I will not use one of their products. I promise! This letter will be posted on FreeRepublic.com.

Should have sent something saying that you will be listening for the next 2 weeks and writing the names of all of their advertisers. Then after the 2 week period let them know that you will never listen again, and that you are sending copies of your letter to all of the sponsor businesses. Just my opinion...JFK

Isn't it interesting that they have gotten so far, with so little analysis even from consservative media, in advancing a cause, the rule of Shari'a law, that but for the masking of our fooiish dependence on foreign oil, would be constantly remarked upon as the failure it has been everywhere it has been implemented?

I'd be very curious to see Graham's ratings. I wonder if they would have cancelled Rush Limbaugh had he made the same statement. Graham is their cash cow. The problem with boycotting WMAL is that you are boycotting Rush Limbaugh since he is not on any other receivable station the the DC area. My preference would be for some other station to pick up Graham and then watch the ratings shift away from WMAL. WMAL management are nothing but cowards.
