Over There is Anti-Everything
today | Me

Posted on 07/29/2005 3:01:15 AM PDT by Michael121

Over There got a lot of hype. It was BS and pure anti-American.

To those who say they "Support our troops" and if you listen closely they say that as an afterthought.

It is like they have to concentrate and remember to fit it in before they run out of face time in front of the camera.

"They" do not support our troops. They do not want us to win. They would be happy with more American Soldier deaths if it meant political power.

This was pure propaganda. It was anti-American all the way. But hyped as true and non-political.

The picture above is of a Pearl Harbor Veteran Houston James and an Iraqi Freedom Veteran SSgt Graunke. This is what America is about. This is what our Warriors are like in character and self worth. They knew the risks. They face the fear. It is not overcoming fear but looking it in the eye.

Going into harms way IN SPITE of the dangers. Running towards the sound of gunfire. Hoping to dodge bullets to pull out a fallen comrade. Not worrying about yourself except to say, I hope I make it to get to, and save my brother.

It is about going into the fire and just hoping you can survive the burns. But taking that step. With the knowlege that there are those waiting to put out the flames.

The lefties are scared they might singe their hair. They stand back and let others do the work.

I for one as a Veteran am thankful there are still those who will do the work others are afraid and unwilling to do themselves. Men like SSGT Graunke and Houston James stood in for others who will never even stand up.

They both are the America that I know. They are the heroes. They are my brothers.

Very moving photo and post.

Frankly though, I'm really surprised at the knee jerk reaction to this show here. I was excited for the show, watched it, and it pretty much was what I expected. I didn't think it was anti-american or had a political bent, I found it enjoyable, yet heartwrenching.

Death and destruction has priority over humanitarian accomplishments, and we can’t forget their emulation of their Great Icon of News Reporting – Walter Cronkite, the head of the America Desk for the NVA.

It doesn't mean we have to just accept it. Those people right here on FR who read a New York Times article and immediately react just like the NYT wants them to irritate me.

It also doesn't mean that just because the media ignores it (for example the multitiude of positive ocurrences in Iraq's progress) it's not news.

Well "POP" you need to re-watch. First is the couple having sex in every room. The dope smoker would not make it and would be on a trasport home with an Article-15. They drug test.

The NCO in charge granted was supposed to have ETS'ed but his attitude brings down moral. Telling his men to do nothing.

Trucks DO NOT PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. that is WHERE the IED's are located. They stay in the middle and they also have security on a convoy.

You do not remove your helmet when you have just been atacked. On any major assualt there is ALWAYS Air support. The excuse that none was available was BS. Plenty of warbirds without missions.

An NCO telling a private that he was gonna shoot him.

I could go on. Too much non reality just more anti Soldier propaganda.

And now Oliver Stone is gonna do a 9-11 movie. The SAME Stone who said the attacks were justified rebellion to American policy.

The left does not get it. And with people like you giving an "ehh not that bad" reaction they never will and they have enough sheeple to help.

But there’s not much we can do about it. When I watch the evening news I have my filters in place. When they are doing their war coverage segment is when I make a beer run. Most of my news in that category comes from an Army website - https://www.us.army.mil/suite/portal/index.jsp – Free Republic and Emails.

You do what you can. I feel it imcumbent upon me to report the truth I see with my own eyes to as many as I can.

I've been criticized and even verbally beaten up for it, but I'm going to keep on doing it. I've even had FReepers say the silliest things to me like "Your vision is skewed because of where you are." I guess they'd rather believe the New York Times and CNN.

Those FReepers in a a tiny minority, though.
