The military aren't the only one's on the lookout for middle eastern men carrying rocket launchers and other such munitions.
So am I and all my friends, and to note, we are proud to be racial profilers of said middle eastern men.

Is this or is this not an urban legend? Yesterday here someone was saying it *is* an urban legend. So which is it? Is Malkin blowing it by falling for an urban legend - that does not seem to be like her. Need facts - too much conflicting info at present!

When I have to fly I roll my blanket into a "rope" and use it to hold the nearest middle eastern man securely in his seat. Better safe than sorry.

The milietary may be looking for rocket launchers, but the civilian LEO's are hamstrung by idiot liberal politically appointed police chiefs who would rather allow a thousand airlines to be shot down rather than risk offending one terrorist.

TEAM TINKER BATTLE STAFF DIRECTIVE (BSD) BSD # 41 DTG 140825L Jul 05L OPR: All SUSPENSE: Upon receipt SUBJECT: BSD# 40 Amendment SITUATION: On 14 Jul 05, three individuals were observed outside of the perimeter of Tinker AFB, OK. They were looking through binoculars, taking pictures and one appeared to be holding a large weapon at chest level. The weapon appeared to be aimed towards a low flying aircraft. The three individuals were described as being of Middle Eastern decent and left the area when approached. The weapon was later identified as a rocket launcher (MANPAD) and the low flying aircraft to be a B-1 Bomber. FBI in Oklahoma City and AFOSI determined the threat to be credible. Due to this and other recent incidents and security concerns surrounding Tinker AFB, OK, the potential for suspicious activity in the Tinker AFB (TAFB) Area of Responsibility (AOR) has increased. While there is no specific threat information directed towards the TAFB AOR, it is imperative that all personnel remember their responsibilities to report any and all suspicious activity they observe.

I still question why, if they were approached and known to be middle eastern carrying this weapon, were they allowed to escape????

The Tinker AFB report is bogus. Prior threads here on FR. Someone will link them I'm sure.

The Tinker AFB story was totally debunked. Whoever started the hoax didn't even know the area well enough to name the proper streets.

Is this or is this not an urban legend? The story does not pass the smell test. If said arab was taking a bead on a B1, why did he not fire? If said arab had said weapon why waste it on an old military aircraft and not a 757 landing at OKC?
BTW: Where can I buy an RPG launcher and some rockets? I would really like to shoot up a few old cars at the range.

Primarily because of a lot of bad movies people actually have a greatly exagerrated idea of the capabilities of spy satellites.
You can't actually get a continuous movie down to showing people and license plates of the entire surface of the globe with them.
You can get very high resolution pics of a VERY narrow swath, but any given spot on earth can really only be photographed a couple times a day. You can't use spy satellites as some sort of generic camera watching widely scattered areas for suspicious activity.
