But in this case, you are right. It looks like it is a Republican president, with an Independent (no party) vice-president who happens to be a woman. President dies so those nasty Republicans want her to step down in order to allow the "strong male" Republican guy (Sutherland) to become President. BLEH!
I'll tell you what this is, its the lefts pre-emptive shot against a Condi vice-Presidency. They are saying "well, if the Republicans DO run a female VP, she will only be a figure head who would be removed in a minute if the time came!"....

Media is "normalizing" the idea of a woman President so that Hillary will be more acceptable to the American people.
Not that there is anything wrong with a qualified woman being President. Mrs Thatcher proved that a while back.

I think I saw she is not a Republican but an independent. Dems and libs trying to be non-political will always end up being one tiny step back from as far left as you can go, and call it moderate.
They should just have the characters be completly liberal and be done with it, as that will be their only audience anyway.
I was actually part of the test audience for this thing about two years back. I thought it was a nifty idea for a TV series. I wonder why it took so long to get it into production.
My prediction, having seen the comercials, is: Cancelled during first season, after pilot episodes air and before a full first season is even on film.
