They also never really ID'ed who feloniously leaked Clarence Thomas's confidential FBI file info to Nina Totenberg that lead to the Anita Hill embarrassment. Most speculated it came from Kennedy's staff.

If Karl Rove were a Democrat, they would revere him as a god. And Bob Beckel would be sending him free hookers.

Democrat's who reveal information aren't just "ignored and glossed over"...they are paraded as champions. When information is revealed by a Democrat, the perpetrator is a Whistleblower; when it's a Republican, s/he is a leaker...with all the negative connotations attached to it. If Rove were a Democrat, you can bet your *ss that Plame and Wilson's role in this charade would've been exposed as the media would've made them, their motives and their friends, front-page stories. The story wouldn't have been about Rove's secret leak...it would've been about the courage of Rove to reveal the sinister plot within the CIA to topple a US president.
Just as they did with Linda Tripp and the SBVT, the substance of their charges were irrelevant as those making the charges became targets for investigations and retribution. This is far different from the way the media treats Democrats, were the substance of the charge is the "only" thing that matters...irrespective of evidence or facts. Just the recent example of Mark Felt is an indication of this, were even though he broke the law, the ends justified the means for liberals. This double-standard is obvious...and pathetic.

Exactly! On another forum, the rabid liberals were demanding that Sandra Day O'Connor be replaced with someone like-minded, not someone more conservative. So I asked them, if a conservative like Thomas retired, and a liberal were President, would they demand the same and equal appointment, a conservative, as they were demanding of Bush? The reply: crickets.
The whole, 'if so-and-so were______' argument is elementary.

Thanks for the ping. The author is employing logic. Stop doing this! Its not about logic or truth, its about hurt (in 2000) emotions and political expediency.

If Karl was a Demon-crap, he would wear a crown and Howard Dean would have a spike collar and crawl around on his hands and knees. Karl would walk Howard on a lease and let him bite at the ankles of those who dare approach the mighty Karl. lol

Thanks, cwb. While most of us intuitively know this, it's helpful to see it stated or put in print.
IMO,what you posted can't be said enough. But loud and often would be a good start! :)

Lets say Karl Rove worked for the Clinton administration and he did in fact reveal the name of a CIA agent to a reporter because she sent her husband, who is a big republican supporter, to Africa to make the Clinton administration look bad. I promise you, if Karl Rove's name was ever mentioned in the scandal, the MSM would be giving Karl Rove high praise for blowing the whistle on a corrupt CIA agent.

You are welcome. I thought it would be helpful. I hope Levin sees it before the show. I did ping him.

I think we should put up a Levin thread today. I'll try to remember to do it.

Well, if Karl Rove were a Democrat Presidential advisor, I would imagine he wouldn't have much to say to anyone...
...since his mouth would be full of toes (paging Dick Morris) or maybe an entire foot (James Carville, your table is ready)...
