PLAME 'RETIREMENT' STRICTLY VOLUNTARY (ACT: no question Plame falsified FEC form)
NY POST ^ | July 28, 2005 -- | DEBORAH ORIN Bureau Chief

Posted on 07/28/2005 4:30:35 AM PDT by Liz

A liberal activist group.....said it appears that outed CIA agent Valerie Plame supplied the false information that she was "retired" when she bought two tickets to a Bruce Springsteen anti-Bush concert......

"We would not have filled something in," said an official of America Coming Together, noting that each ticket buyer was asked to list employer and job for federal election reports because it was a political event.

The $372 ticket purchase is the first revelation that Plame participated in anti-Bush activity while working for the CIA. Her husband, former diplomat Joseph Wilson, told Time.com that she "doesn't recall listing herself as retired."

Plame — who was still a CIA staffer but on a leave of absence last fall — used Ticketmaster to buy the two tickets in her married name of Valerie Wilson, the ACT official said.

Plame's anti-Bush ticket purchases raised eyebrows among Republicans.

"......Plame has the right to support anyone she wants, but she and her husband can't continue to pose as nonpartisan, public-spirited citizens," said Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.).

The Hatch Act doesn't prohibit making campaign donations. See the following: http://www.osc.gov/ha_fed.htm#may_not

The Bush Administration did not hire him, the CIA did at the behest of his wife.

Imagine their surprise if Fitzpatrick puts them both on the stand...with indictments...

I really can't wait to see this all come to light to the point where people like Russert can't ignore the story and are compelled to broadcast the NEWS.

Plame and her husband seem to have the typical leftist Washington thing down pat. Lie, lie, lie. Sort of taking after Clinton's deny, deny, deny.

(2) Violated the Hatch Act prohibiting politicking by federal employees

Don't think it's a violation to contribute or attend fundraising events.

So was it illegal for Plame to attend the Springsteen concert?

I doubt it. All federal employees are allowed to attend fundraisers although there is a small class of higher level employees that are somewhat restricted. I don't think she was one of those and even then it would probably still be legal.

We don't know what else she did for Kerry.

If she used her CIA status to promote his candidacy, for example.

Many times, Kerry sounded like he was coached.
