Never had an MRE. Occasionally dined on C-Rats when doing my time in-country. MRE's sure look better than C-Rats, although I doubt they still include those small cigarette packs.

C-Rats had their advantages. I have fond memories of Beanie-weenies and Green-eggs-n-ham.
But MREs have greater variety and are pretty tasty these days.
No, No Cigarettes - we get tabasco instead. Mmmmmmmmmmm
